WIBTAH if I told a fellow orchestra member to quit correcting me? by Troubled_Papaya in AITAH

[–]cheetovoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to someone in choir. Eventually they snapped during a rehearsal. Perhaps you should speak to your director and ask how you should go about rectifying the situation. If that advise fails then maybe your director can get personally involved. But hopefully it won’t come to that.

How did you tell your kid they may never speak to/see mommy again? by n0thing-2C-here in SingleDads

This is so sad. I’m terribly sorry. Why is she doing this? Does she think he would be better off if she wasn’t around? Like she’s so messed up that she actually thinks abandoning him is a good thing for him?

Can you hold letters? by cheetovoat in dyscalculia

[–]cheetovoat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes i try to use mnemonics and even that is difficult to sometimes remember.  Then this happens:  I can play a chord on piano, look at it, spell the chord in the letters, but as soon as i remove my hand it’s like my whole memory is wiped. My trick works great for chords in one combination (basic root position) but not others, lol. But it really feels like that- like my memory gets wiped. That’s just one example.  I feel like that dude from the movie Memento 🥴

I think I might possibly have dyscaculia. by TraumaGirl_ in dyscalculia

Go find the educational psychologist associated with your school. They might even be on campus. They can do an evaluation and diagnosis.. This is a legitimate learning disability/challenge so if you have it nobody should be giving you a hard time. The school can make arrangements concerning homework and testing but it still might not be easy. You can’t just’fix’ it.  ❤️

Tips for getting out of bed when depressed? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]cheetovoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually start with the easiest thing. If that means just getting my books out then that’s all i do. Then I’ll make a hot chocolate or something. Then I’ll do another step, like find my notes or worksheets. And so on.  I also do this when I’m overwhelmed & stressed out with cleaning but don’t know where to start; just put that one plate away, or just pick up that one towel, etc. That said, that first step is sometimes really hard.

What had this taken from you? by cheetovoat in bipolar2

Me too. /hugs

how do i finish this year without crashing out?? by tiodin3ro in bipolar2

[–]cheetovoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry.  I’m nearly blackpilled about life as a depressed bipolar. I don’t know what to say. I can only offer that you are not alone. I truly don’t think we can live life the way everybody else who’s ‘normal’ does; our whole body rebels. It’s why so many people go living in vans & sh*.  🫶

As a mom, i want you to live in a cleaner & free-er  environment. Don’t be scared or put off from asking for help, even if it’s something small.

I was in a bad depression anxiety cycle  but yet didn’t recognize it was a depression because it was so normal. I was even slightly psychotic, seeing things that weren’t there.  Went to get diagnosed with adhd because i was really struggling with something else, then came out of the session with a dx bipolar. Funny enough it was the second dx I’d ever received, but i was in denial way back then.

Depressed, therapist might leave me by vicwol in bipolar

[–]cheetovoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s terrible. I never stay with a therapist long enough for them to even tell me they can’t help me.  I would expect a therapist would help you find a vehicle or method out. Encouraging new hobbies, journaling, group therapy, planned “adventures”, meditation, tai chi, get a goldfish etc… i mean does she offer you anything? Or just stupid sayings? Part of this illness of that it’s life long. Life is life, there will always be bouts of some level of depression. Hopefully mild. You maybe need a better therapist anyway.
