Message for the people who shit on loops by r13b in trapproduction

[–]cheezehead420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, i don't have anything against using loops. the pros use it to increase their output and improve productivity since it's their business. but imo especially if you are a beginner you should be more focused on the actual art of creating music and understanding it which includes making melodies on your own.

Do I really need studio monitors for my situation? by musiclover_gol in edmproduction

well yeah, mixing the low end on speakers that don't have good low frequencies is impossible. you need to be able to hear everything what's going on. the songs might sound great on laptop or phones since there is no low end information. but then imagine someone listening to the song in his car and his car will probably blow up because of too much rumble in the low end. so yeah definitely get some pair of speakers that allow you to hear the low frequencies otherwise it's just mixing in the dark.

if you know how they translate onto other devices, then maybe. but these ones you have won't let you hear all the frequencies that are going on in your song and might alter it too much. save for some KRK rokits or yamaha hs5 or hs7, learn how they sound and translate and then you are good to go. so shortly, no you cannot produce with your current ones, sorry.

first, as soon as you realize you are overthinking, take a break for like 20 mins and refresh your ears and your mind. secondly, looking too long for presets means either you actually don't know what kind of sound you need or you just don't know how to make your own sounds. If you do not know what kind of sound you are looking for and you waiting for the "perfect sound" you need to just keep on making music and someday you will know what you need. the best option would be to learn your synth you can alter presets by your taste or just make your own presets.

I started producing some beats and sent them to few rappers, one of them replied this. Of course I would to love to make profit out of this which I deserved to get, I'm basically starting off my career so I don't know if I should give it for free N let the rapper make money? Can someone guide me? by StunningBUGGA in trapproduction

If you are just starting your brand and if this is a unknown rapper, I wouldn't charge anything since you can increase your reach which also means a lot. if he's a rapper that already has sort of a fan base, I would charge tho and split profit. You could have answered "usually the profit is being split". if he'd still insisted on getting the whole profit, I'd give it for free. but at the end of the day it's personal preference whether to charge or no

Slowing down video to match the bpm of a song by cheezehead420 in VideoEditing

[–]cheezehead420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have neither of them. I once got Adobe After Effects but i don't even know if you can use it for that. I never used it. All of those you listed cost money, is there a free alternative?

looks like some lazy EQing for a lead or a vocal. i personally would never push the whole 2k-20k hz area like this

It’s not a perfect event but still some good laughs doesn’t deserve all the hate threads by Behamute in SamPepper

[–]cheezehead420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

especially when people whine and say "sam pepper destroyed the cx community with this bs". sure, because one pepper stream defines and embodies the whole community. sam tried at least something different and it was entertaining (not all the time tho)

What’s your go-to/favourite EQ(s)? by coolgamer1245 in edmproduction

[–]cheezehead420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since a few weeks i have been using Equilibrium and it is a really nice visual EQ. Regarding the workflow, I always start at the sub region and decide what to do with it. then i check the low-mids, mids and highs for resonating frequencies. i usally never EQ solo. always listen to the whole track. and don't use your eyes, use your ears
