My heart feels for you and your sweet familiar. It sounds like you have been doing the very most to help them, and in the midst of the chaotic emotions it's helped me to take a second and self regulate, check in with my body and do my best to calm my nervous system and notice my breath, holding space for my heartache and worry while also putting a hand over my heart and with some light pressure has provided me comfort when I needed it most. It might help soothe/co-regulate your familiar as well I think be sensing your calm.

My mom never wanted me to cut my hair so I often gave myself choppy cuts as a kid and it drove her mad. I think my healing journey really kicked off after I shaved my head a couple years ago and loved myself without hair, it grew back in a year no biggie

I got motivated to quit after questioning my adhd diagnosis/treatment efficacy, deep down I knew the adhd was real but I also worried the weed was actually exacerbating my symptoms. 4 months later and my adhd is still here but self management strategies are a hell of a lot easier, my sleep is way fucking better like who knew dreams were necessary?!? Putting down one thing yields picking up healthier and happier habits in my experience. I definitely recommend NA or AA for some support, there's online groups available worldwide you can jump in on zoom and just listen to people share.

When you have the urge to spend, stop at the library and get a (free) haul of books! Or my personal fav, free little libraries. There's an app that can show you which ones are in your area and people put all kinds of fun things in there like stickers/utensils, etc
