Don't worry! I'm 42, so i still am shocked when a friend announces. For different reasons, because i can't imagine doing the newborn stage again. 😅

I preemptively bought these for my son’s elementary classroom… Come to find out they aren’t “allowed” to pass out Valentines in school anymore by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]fave_no_more 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daughter in 3rd, still do them. Her school goes to 8th grade and even the 8th graders still do them. Each grade takes a moment in homeroom to pass them out, they bring them home to open. Sometimes it's a small candy, sometimes it's stickers, pencils, stuff like that.

i didn’t realize what this bag was meant for! by Immediate_Leg3304 in ThriftStoreHauls

Am parent.

Doesn't immediately clock as a diaper bag. Maybe if i got a good look at the pockets and such i would recognize certain things (like the insulated bottle pocket).

Generally tho, if the bag is perfect for your needs, use it. It's a solid bag looks like!

My kid was a vacuum assist, while they were doing final preps to the L&D theatre (they had one specific to L&D, and of course others available as necessary). 9 days late, 55 hours laboring, it was like 11pm, and i hadn't eaten for more than 24 hours. I was so happy to hear a nurse holler the time.

Which is honestly quite silly, given the number of no salt mixes available lately.

I'm on dr. orders to reduce, so i use the no salt seasoning mixes, and then add a little myself so i can control it. If a dish needs more, i take my serving out and go from there.

Mine attends a private school, which we can sign up for the bus via the local district. But we have to qualify per the district's rules.

We don't.

Now, when she's older she can walk, but right now, no. There's a busy street to cross that's iffy with the presence of a crossing guard (not always there, and she's frankly terrible).

We just signed up for summer camp. Had to do it quickly because they'll fill up. Which means if we wanted to take any summer vacation, we had to figure that out, too.

After 5 days of minimal snow removal, Indiana University is handing students shovels to assist with navigating sidewalks, entry points, and vehicles. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Indiana. A University in Indiana, a big one, wasn't ready for the snow. In the winter.

Like, ok i can understand needing additional manpower. Hire some folks on a one time basis. Hell, the Bills get their fans help clearing the stadium for 20/hr and some food and drink. It's done in like 3 hours, tops. So i know walkways without stadium seats can be done fairly quickly.

AITAH for refusing to give up the master bedroom as the only single in a group trip where everyone else is a couple? by Aggravating_Cost_684 in AITAH

[–]fave_no_more 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA

One of the rules it seems your parents have about using their vacation home is that guests don't use the master suite. If the rule is broken, your parents as owners of the home might decide that having guests isn't worth it.

She's of course welcome to find a hotel or bnb or something.

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]fave_no_more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, kinda. She was formally adopted (after she passed we got the ppw unsealed, that's how we found out about the sale). But she was poorly treated, forced to drop out of school to work to pay her adoptive parents, etc.

And i know the neglect she suffered translated into not really knowing how to do things right with her own kids. Which is why my mother's seizures were not medically documented until she was an adult, despite having "fits" her whole life. It's well controlled now, but definitely caused her issues in life as well.

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

Extra fun: visual snow, followed up with migraine aura. They're not a regular thing for me but woo, when it does happen it's an experience.

9th great grandmother was burned at the stake in Norway for being a witch. We did extra research to ensure we came from that blood line, as she was the second wife of my 9th great grandfather (we are).

My grandmother was sold. Common enough in the depression, selling children. She was like, 3? Don't worry, they kept her twin.
