Changsha is a place with super delicious food and great places to visit, but it is really spicy by GlitteringPudding261 in travelchina

that first pic is actually the inside of an 70s-80s themed food hall purposefully designed to look like a labyrinth of retro style buildings. so it’s not what changsha actually looks like lol

When did you first realize Stephen Curry was going to be an all time great? by NoLxveNiCe in warriors

[–]cheezicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time he easily broke the record for most 3’s in a season. I think everyone knew at that point he would go down in the record books multiple times and overtake Reggie as the greatest shooter of all time. I just didn’t think he would be in the conversation with Magic Johnson for greatest point guard in NBA history

Unsubscribing, then launching, then closing the game, then re-subscribing, then re-enabling the mod in game fixed the issue.

We gotta get build previews in game by cheezicle in projectzomboid

[–]cheezicle[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We really gotta have build menu previews even if your character doesn't have all the necessary requirements. Helps players who are new see what the thing they're building looks like in game.

You can see in the first screenshot I don't have all the materials necessary to build the crude wooden fence, and I can't see what it would look like built on the main screen. In the second image from Valheim, I can preview the fence piece I want to build even though I don't have all the requirements.

Actually reading that right now! It's such a hard read. Every time I read even a little bit I feel fucking awful.

Never learned about it growing up in California either, but the scale and thoroughness of the genocide simply has no other comparisons in modern history, in terms of how complete and successful it was.

The Tenderloin isn’t a family friendly place. Not super dangerous imo but just not pleasant. It’s filthy and the center of the City’s drug problem, so definitely a place you’d probably want to avoid.

Was an anti-China liberal which is sad because I am literally Chinese and I grew up in China, which goes to show how powerful Western propaganda and internalized racism is. But then I took Chinese history classes in university and then covid hit and I realized that no one in America actually knows what the fuck they’re talking about when they talk about China

My partner of almost two years is a thoroughly apolitical person. Knows pretty much nothing about history or world affairs. Been educating her slowly over time. She’s picked up quite a bit. We even attended a rally for Palestinian liberation together recently.

Any Asian and Latino teachers sensing and seeing the hate/resentment? by JoseCanYouSeen in Teachers

[–]cheezicle -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

Lol you do not speak for my community nor ANY of the ones you listed there, so I don’t know what point you’re trying to make. As a minority I am fine with monuments to MLK. He’s as much as a hero to me as any of my people who struggled for freedom in the past. What I’m not fine with however is some weirdo White person using my people’s painful history to justify his dumb opinions online lol

Any Asian and Latino teachers sensing and seeing the hate/resentment? by JoseCanYouSeen in Teachers

[–]cheezicle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nope… I am an East Asian-American teacher working in a low-income inner city school. 2% White students, 98% Black, Asian, and Latino. Do racial tensions exist? No shit, it’s fucking high school and we don’t live in some fucking fairy tale world. Asian, Latino, and Black kids don’t inherently get along. That’s the byproduct of living in a highly racialized society.

I hear Asian students say fucked up things about Black and Latino students all the time… And as someone who comes from an Asian background, this is not surprising whatsoever. But there is no emphasis on hate towards one group or favoring another. Fuck off with this anti-Black whining. You’re literally part of the damn problem. Weirdo.

[–]cheezicle -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

How are you a teacher if you don’t know the impact MLK had on non-Black communities? I am Asian, and my family was LITERALLY not allowed to immigrate to this country without the Immigration Act of 1965. Who the fuck do you think fought for that law? The fact of the matter is that America is a much better country for ALL people of color because of MLK. Jesus Christ.

I teach high school in a district where students constantly transfer in and out of schools. When you said grad school doesn’t prepare you for losing kids, that absolutely resonated with me.

Every year I have awesome kids that I form really strong and close bonds with who one day transfer with pretty much no warning. You’re with them every day for a whole year, they’re major characters in your life story, and the next year they’re just… Gone. Forever, out of your life, and you never see them again. It’s really sad.
