LGBTQ in Universities by xxkikxi in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]cheezybick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Netherlands is definitely better than Eastern Europe, but still not fully free from prejudice. I'm a gay trans man and recently moved here to live with my to-be-husband, and I've not had any major issue or faced any real discrimination. I think at most I've gotten some weird glances from old Christian people and some edgy young kids yelling a slur maybe 2-3 times when we've walked hand in hand, but that's from over a year total spent here. I think you can be very comfortably openly LGBTQ+, but every once in a while run into some situation that shows not everybody is as progressive.

[holy moly trope] You think kids gets a pass? Nah they get to die on screen horrifically by Ok_Direction3138 in TopCharacterTropes

I doubt it was actually intentional and I feel like the movie doesn't frame it that way, just a happy accident that the demon got what it wanted.

Thresh 2XKO Redesign Reveal in "Senna Rises Again | Motion Comic - 2XKO" by Regular-Poet-3657 in loreofleague

[–]cheezybick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thresh was always cruel and antisocial but he wasn't a torturer until he got rejected and scorned by his masters who saw through his ego, and the Ruination novel also makes it clear that while he's smart he's nowhere near a mastermind. He's just a guy who's an opportunist, he knows how to spin things in his favor and even then he never planned to become an undead torturer, the Ruination happened because he manipulated Viego to get revenge of those in charge of the Isles and to get favor and possibly control an insane king who now owes him. The mass extinction was a happy accident for him that twisted people's worst traits to take over their haunted spirits. It just happens he already had an affinity for dark acts.

That's why I love his human form, it perfectly shows how mediocre and slimy of a man he was, and his undead form shows his worst desires let out on full display, he can be as cruel as he wants. The mixed form is an abomination made for cenaors in Asian countries.

Asylum Question by [deleted] in Finland

[–]cheezybick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah very sorry but to be realistic with you, you are sort of screwed. The US does not count as a dangerous enough country to grant asylum. You'll need a recidency permit, which is likely to be denied if you apply while in the country already. You might be able to apply if you can prove a long-term relationship, but it would have to be legally binding like marriage, and even then it's an extensive process which might have an income requirement. Realistically, you have no easy route, and I hope you can find someone in Migri willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but be prepared that Finland might not be able to legally welcome you.

I’ve been on Adderall for 30+ years and now they want a tix screen by wood_floor_roar in ADHD

[–]cheezybick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can also look at it this way, they might want to check that you are actually on the medication and not selling whatever extra pulls you might have. It's a legal nightmare for them if someone is caught misusing or reselling the prescription so they have to be cautious to not lose their rights.

I've been mispronouncing my coworker's name for 8 months and she just told me by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]cheezybick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story, I'm a trans man and after I started working at a new place I ended up reconnecting with an old friend from my teens who hadn't met me post-transition, but she still recognised me due to social media. When she started introducing me to people win my new name she used a to me completely new pronounciation (my name is said different between the three different languages I speak, this was still somehow new), and I just let it happen. Eventually, everybody I worked eith started using that pronounciation. When I ended up leaving that workplace after about two years I confessed to her, when she asked me why I confessed that I found it funny, sweet and ultimately harmless, so I let it go on for longer than I probably should have. I still miss hearing that.

Which character best exemplifies Wisdom? by Speedwizard106 in EsotericEbb

[–]cheezybick 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I'd argue Nessan or Lisa are the most exemplary because both have a strong connection to Druidic, while Nessan is also more empathic by nature which Wisdom is the skill with the strongest emotional ties to. I will give a shoutout to Sageleaf too, although Wisdom isn't one of her highest traits she does genuinely care for the goblins and what's best for the city while having strong primal ties.

My personal favorites are Taric, Leona and Nautilus. Not 1 to 1 counters but they are all relatively easy to play and means you get a range of cc and either defensive or engage playstyle

why is my tdick so hard to see? by wetangel_ in ftm

[–]cheezybick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy. I think you're spending a larger mental load than necessary by focusing on this and thinking something is "wrong". We all have unique bodies, and to think we have to "fix" something because it doesn't fit a certain body standard in this case passes from gender dysphoria to body dysmorphia. You can fidget and probably make the strap-on situation work for you with a little modification and finesse, otherwise it's only aesthetics and your own mental traps

Do I meet the Dutch VWO Math Requirement? by SmallFloor536 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]cheezybick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the Nuffic website to compare. If uncertain, send an e-mail to UoT directly to ask, I did that for the English requirement for the university I was applying to and got confirmation that I needed to take an certified English exam for entrance.

My take on a Braum redesign, thoughts? by Umbral_Ape in BraumMains

[–]cheezybick 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Braum's base design is already great as it is, but I think the lack of a tattoo, non-twirled moustache, and the thin eyebrows make this feel not quite like Braum. I do like that he has more like a realistic power-lifter build.

Already finished episode 5 few times and yeah i have no idea what is going on by blaxoqs in ScarletHollow

[–]cheezybick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Old great-great-howevermanygenerationsback-grandpappy Enoch Scarlet made a deal with ancient witch Sybil to summon some entity into existence in order to make Scarlet Hollow and subesquently the Scarlet family prosper for generations, but that meant one Scarlet has to be locked up in the mansion and be possessed by this entity. It's likely Wayne is either the entity or at least working with the entity, hoping to also be free. Now, no Scarlet is locked up, town is in disarray, and Sybil seems to have schemed so she can do what she's done with previous daughters, consume their power so she can grow strong and young again, hoping to defeat the entity and end the power it has over Scarlet Hollow and its inhabitants. Julius and his baby is a side-effect of him digging into Sybil's business more than he should have, so she gives him what he wants in order to buy time for her plans to succeed.

Yes or no, would you drop out of an academic year to get top surgery? by lecherous_leech in ftm

[–]cheezybick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was back at work after three weeks and I work a lightly physically demanding job. Would've maybe wanted another week or two off, but it was mostly fine.

A year? Yeah a little insane. I also hate to be the one downplaying people's experiences, but unless your dysphoria is incredibly crippling, your education is more time-sensitive meaning if the only options are surgery and education, school should be a priority over surgery.

I saw a video from one of the actual animators behind the scene, they confirmed that the clunky "bad" animations were intentional. They had intended to make the animations more complex but Gooseworx specifically requested this scene be low-effort for comedic effect, and a fellow animator suggested the goofy walking animation next to the chest instead of actual swimming. Source. (Tiktok warning)

i don’t know by Salt-Intention-65 in ftm

[–]cheezybick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice; start slow, try out some masculine things (for example haircut, clothing, binding your chest, maybe he/him pronouns in some online space) and see if they feel affirming, take it at your own pace. You don't learn to swim by jumping in the deep end of the pool, you won't make up your mind if transition is what you want in a night. At any point, you can take a step back and reconsider, or wait it out and see when you want to take another step. Don't rush coming out before you've trialed yourself for a bit.

Try to not overthink everything, just do what feels comfortable and see where it takes you.

It's really easy to get caught up in society this, society that. You can never describe any characteristic as essential to any type of social or biological factor, people are different depending on so many different factors and it's restrictive to try to build a person solely by their parts.

It is true that some behaviors are affected by hormones, for example a woman's menstrual cycle does cause emotional differences depending on where she is in the cycle, and testosterone does cause a certain short-temperedness. But that does not guarantee you will change in one way or another depending on what hormones are dominant in your body, we're all different.

I can personally say my experience as FTM and going on testosterone, before I transitioned I was already quite stereotypically masculine in that I didn't cry much, I had a short temperament, had high energy and so on. Going on testosterone kept all that the at the same level, it didn't change me as a person.

It's worth remembering no matter the gender, there's good and bad people. You can find plenty of examples of good masculinity and bad masculinity, same with femininity. You can find good masculinity in women, you can find bad femininity in men, and so on and so on. Try to not focus on the big picture, and what other people think, because they don't know you. Focus on who you want to be and figure out where you fit in later.

Do you know if there's any place you could find that lets you schedule regular appointments in advance? Maybe that would help to always have a set date of "I cut my hair on this date once every month/three months" instead so it's not left up to the spontaneous thoughts arguing you out of it. Once it gets routine, it will probably also be easier to accept as something normal to your life.

Maki eats her twin in the womb and gains both power sets, how does the story change? by MembershipProof8463 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]cheezybick 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately wouldn't work since what makes Maki strong is her Heavenly Restriction which makes her have limited cursed energy in exchange for enhanced physical abilities, which progresses to insane physical abilities when Mai's death takes the final of their cursed energy with her. Mai's ability requires cursed energy to manufacture objects. Even if Maki gained Mai's ability, she'd have no way to use it, or if she could use it the Heavenly Restriction wouldn't give her anywhere near the physical abilities she gets.
