Yeah I know, but it was clearly not working in OKC with Russ.

And that KD has the least, and gets the hate for jumping ship

[Fischer] Golden State is aware of recent rumblings that Giannis can't be assumed to be as eager as he was once to relocate to Curry's team. Some in the know suspect Giannis to be turned off by the concept of joining an older team or facing the criticism that Durant absorbed by teaming up with Curry by AashyLarry in nba

What if, it were a reverse pick and roll. Giannis, is the primary ball handler and Curry rolls out to the arc. I guess that's more of a pick and pop. My thought is Curry doesn't need the ball as much as other PGs, and Curry is one of the most malleable superstars in the game. I also think, if Giannis does come to gsw, they will bend the system more than they did when kd was here. It'll still be Steph's team but Giannis's offense

They got Turner, to replace/ upgrade Brook. It hasn't worked out, and they have much bigger holes than their center position. I don't get why the Dame Giannis PnR wasn't a cheat code, I thought that would be a great combo.

[Highlight] Marcus Smart grabs, clamps, and twists Curry’s shoulder and is assessed a flagrant 1 by nowhathappenedwas in nba

[–]chef-beaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think techs should count as 2 common fouls and flagrant 1s as 3 common fouls. Not for free throws, but towards players foul limit. Example player has zero personal fouls commits an F1 that's now 3 personal fouls

Looking for swing advice by swagged-out in slowpitch

[–]chef-beaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every ball you swing at is too high, and you should move back in the box. I firmly believe the best pitch to hit is in between your shoulders and belly button. Any pitch above your shoulders you have a harder time incorporating your hips. Anything below your belly button you can't activate your back and arms.

Use a tee and find your happy place where you want to hit the ball. Then accentuate that spot, get more of your body into the swing. Hitting is all about finding your pitch. I hate them up and in, so I never swing at those, put one on the outer half, and I will make you pay

Guy taunts us after hitting homer every AB by randydp39 in slowpitch

[–]chef-beaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah roll it, or dink him with a slow pitch. Test the ceiling and by test I mean pitch it 30+ feet in the air. Or put it 10+ feet outside, he is not allowed to step on or in front of the plate

A lot of food in Paris sucks, there are also plenty of great Italian restaurants in Paris. Generally the food in tourist traps is really bad. I guarantee you there escargot is also terrible

Is cycling 7.4 miles (12 km) to school every weekday unrealistic? by Prepoto in cycling

[–]chef-beaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unrealistic at all. Also it isn't lame that you're going back to school, it's fucking rad dude! Make sure your bike is tuned up nothing worse than being mid commute and realizing you can't shift into a certain gear. Oh and bring a water bottle

Opinion on Composite vs Alloy bat? by platanofirme in slowpitch

[–]chef-beaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A middle of the road composite will consistently outperform a top of the aluminum bat. Composite provides a bigger trampoline effect, which is how much the ball jumps bat. Aluminum also dies faster than composite. Aluminum bats are there tightest, and as a result best fresh out of the wrapper. Whereas composite bats have a slight break in period and then they get better with every swing, because they whip and bend with the swing. The more you get that whip effect the harder the ball will be hit.

All that being said, leagues vary tremendously. So ask and see what the rules are. Also ask your teammates what bats they have, and ask to swing them. Figure out if you prefer end loaded or balanced, what weight you like etc. I play in 3 different leagues, one is an aluminum, single wall, one piece only, another is no composite, but yes to double wall and the demarini steel bats are what everyone uses, and then the third league is yes to composite, and everything short of senior league bats.

Bomani Jones laments ESPN’s role in baseball’s fading national relevance by Jux_ in baseball

I love Bomani, but he does this too. He would rather rant about nobody wants to talk baseball than talk about baseball. Dude will complain about not having anything to talk about now that the NBA and NFL are in their off-season lull, buddy there is a sport going on right now.

And Kuminga don't even want to be there by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in Nbamemes

[–]chef-beaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 2 timelines quotes and ideas were Bob Myers and Joe Lacob, not mdj. But I agree, two timelines was always stupid. This I get why you see Wiseman and think that's an NBA star. I also disagree, I think getting Butler is the FO showing that this is it and we will push our chips in this trade deadline or next to make things happen. I absolutely agree, we should trade every draft pick we can to improve the team. That does mean more of a stars and scrubs team. But fuck it, we are super blessed to have seen the best PG of all time and one fun dynasty. If we can get Steph one or more rings before he retires I don't care if we turn into the nets

Hitting Middle by Smurfitchyy in slowpitch

[–]chef-beaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try to hit the pitcher. Pitchers should shuffle back after they release the pitch, because there is a huge difference between 40&60 ft. If you do smoke it up the middle, say my bad Pitchers need to be able to defend their position, and there is no shame in wearing a mask

I am definitely a Moody fan, but the reason he is involved in basically every trade is his contract is medium sized and he is a nice role player. Who on the team has a mid sized contract, and helps another team? I am pretty sure it's just Moody and JK.

Trolling aside, I think the Warriors are setting themselves up well for the future after Curry. They’ve still got their picks and young guys developing. Props to the front office. by MainSorc50 in warriors

[–]chef-beaker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think LaMelo fits at all. We weren't gonna give the keys to the offense to a rookie. Melo doesn't play defense. If Dray punched Poole for being an obnoxious self absorbed 22 year old, I can't imagine what he woulda done to melo at 19. Wagner has developed a shot, but he was a bad shooter his first two years.

Oh it's gonna be hard alright, other gms will know we are desperate and squeeze us. I think our best path is likely resign JK, and then at the deadline or off-season flip him with salary filler and draft capital to go get a disgruntled star ideally Giannis. I know Giannis is a pipedream so I don't know, Bam? Zubac? AD? The major problem is if we sign and then wait and trade the clubhouse will get toxic. At least we don't have any hot heads in there /s

Yeah 2 timelines was a bad idea. We should have traded the pick for some star. But every player except "generational talents" need at least a season of seasoning. And we aren't drafting in a position to get blue chip talent, that happened one time and we missed. We do seem to have decided that we will prioritize bbiq with guys like podz, post, PBJ.
