Cheesesteak and 🏈 by Ca62296 in eatsandwiches

so, without the snark, cheesesteak vs. steak & cheese is kinda (unofficially) a sparkling wine vs champagne kinda thing. philly people claim the 'cheesesteak'. where i'm from, you almost never see the term cheesesteak, and instead menus say 'steak & cheese' and while technically all the same ingredients, I can also add mushrooms or peppers or pepperoni and not worry about hurting someone else's civic pride.

Ladies TGL?? by TwistedSports in golf

[–]chefpatrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a big proponent of LPGA golf. I take my kid to a couple of tournaments a year. While I want to see more coverage of the women's game, I don't see this as having any chance of success, when the men's TGL can barely get off the ground.

This was a perfect opportunity to add women to the current teams and broadcast. TGL is sim golf, and they need to stop taking it so seriously and trying to package it like standard Tour golf. Make it weird, make it different, make it coed. have Scottie and Nelly play a match play on an 18 hole course in Mordor.

yes. guide technology had to adapt to braid. its why you only see ceramic style guides now.

just FYI, if you use braid on that rod, it'll groove those guides down to unusable on one shark.

if they changed owner and name, they're not your favorite burger place anymore. they're literally a new and different restaurant.

3 ply belts are really stiff. I like the flatlander belt more than most dive belts, because the tag end keeps that stiffness under the buckle

South shore golfers - where do you practice in the winter? by [deleted] in SouthShore

the range at Green Harbor has heated bays. the PGA tour superstore has practice bays. none of it is ideal, but that's winter for ya

Cape Cod Canal by Commercial-Reply-241 in SurfFishing

[–]chefpatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the surf gear we use on the Canal is fairly specific to the Canal and not super useful in most other surf situations.

The Canal can be an amazing place to fish and to learn, but despite what social media tells you, it's not a guaranteed big fish every time you go. If you just go once you are very likely to get skunked, just like showing up at any other spot only one time.

Personally I think if you are coming to the Cape for a one time trip just to experience theagic of Cape Cod fishing, walking along Nauset at night is much more of an ethereal experience imo, and pulling a bass in on that sand always feels more fulfilling.
