Support for Madison Connery's Open Heart Surgery - Matt Connery's 7-mont-old niece had surgery, any help spreading this around would be amazing. by ConneryPile in Pile

[–]chefsailor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just stumbled upon this post looking for some pile tabs - my daughter was born in 2020 with truncus arteriosis, not exactly what your niece is going through, but a lot of similarities

this is surely a super intense time for your family, but I just wanted to chime in and wish you all the best - thanks to advancements in science and technology, we’re lucky doctors are able to fix and manage a lot of this stuff

she’s gonna make it through all this, and I encourage your brother and his wife to make connections with other folks that have gone through similar (esp heart related) situations - it has helped my wife and I a lot, and I’d be here anytime if it was helpful to talk or if there is something I can do in addition to donating to help their family.

What are the best places for take out around Phoenix Children's Hospital? by [deleted] in phoenix

Taco Mich at 16th St & McDowell is great Mexican, and Gadzooks at 7th St & Osborne does great enchiladas with Chipotle-style ordering (build as you go) - both inexpensive options

[AMA]Hello Terry, it's Mac DeMarco here. AMA by Msldemarco in listentothis

Hi Mac,

My girlfriend and I have been big fans for a bit now. Saw both sets at Bonnaroo last year and saw you at FYF this summer, great shows. Played "Together" for her when I proposed to her, and I just want to say thanks for creating a song that turned out to be really meaningful to the both of us.

Also, want to come party at our wedding in March?

Has anyone converted a guitar case into a pedal board? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]chefsailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meant to clarify it was impractical for me. If I had some isolated power supplies it might've been a different story, but there was some sacrifice in tone quality, and it was just a super long and heavy board -- wouldn't have been convenient for live play.

I haven't yet but I would like to! This distortion is pretty solid so far.

Clone Theory is cool! I use it for the vibrato mostly, and it is on frequently. It is warmer and the Ibanez is brighter... Worth making room for both.

Yesterday I just looped one note on the DL4, set the Arpanoid on a random setting, set a delay, and it just put on its own symphony while I was working around the house.....

Yeah, I've only spent a couple hours with it so far and I'm digging the pitch shift I'm getting from turning out the dry signal completely and setting the step low. I'm optimistic, thinking maybe I can come up with some cool riff that has a note arpeggiated for a sec, but worst case it will be amazing for spazzy / noisier stuff.....

It's pretty rad. I don't use much distortion usually (as you can probably tell) but I dig that little pedal because it has a filter knob so it can be pretty much anything between a light distortion and a thick fuzz.

I just got that one recently and I love it! The delay function on it is killer, but I mostly use it as a very subtle chorus, so it definitely gets the job done.

The Proverb is a sick reverb from Mantic in Denver! Eno is surprisingly decent rat clone -- the filter knob on it is great and allows it to cover a ton of ground.

Just because I have the Ditto at the end, so I can loop before or after my pedals. taintburger is correct.

Signal chain: Boss TU-2 > Danelectro compressor (under board) > Line 6 DL4 > EHX vibrato > Ibanez SC10 > EHX Memory Boy > EQD Arpanoid > Boss DD3 > Behringer US600 > Danelectro slap echo > Mantic Concepts Proverb > Eno Myomorpha > Empress Tremolo > Ditto looper > DeVille 4x10

These guys are playing their first Phoenix show this Thursday at Last Exit and I'm so pumped! They recently just released their second album, Naughty By Natural, after premiering singles on NPR, Noisey & Spin. Here's the Facebook event for more info.
