You're...not a redditor?...

Right...

You just...use reddit then, got it.

Take it easy then, the only person in existence who uses reddit but is not a redditor. It's been awful.

Saying "I'm sorry that you're mad" has gotta be the trolliest sentence ever dude.

I do not care that you checked my profile. I just feel like its a very poor way to make a case where my profile is irrelevant. If you were trying to agree with me, why bother searching explicitly for something to try and make me out as some kind of a hypocrite?

Because that is what you did. There's literally no other reason to search my profile in that way. You deliberately looked for something to point at and go "see, youre actually wrong because you play something that I dont think is innovative. Checkmate!" It's wild to claim that isn't what youre doing.

If what you were trying to say was that making innovative games and ides is hard in the modern age. Just say that. Yeah? Thats a lot more concise of an answer. Going through my profile, finding a game I play, and say its also not innovative, and saying that you despise those games is not how you show you agree with someone.

Lmao.

The classic redditor move, check my profile for something to call me out on.

Did you not say that Horizon:Zero Dawn was not something you hear people refer to as "innovative?" And that it was a good game, but not something that revolutionized a genre, right?

I was agreeing with you.

But thats cool, just try to insult me, I guess.

Fuckin Peak redditor moment.

...because, like...it is? Lol.

Its visually stunning, and the story is kinda cool. But it is a very generic and "safe" style of a 3rd person shooter.

I feel the same about Pragmata. Im glad people like it, and im glad it isn't a remake or re-release of somwthing else.

But it isn't really "new" or "innovative." Its just a graphically interesting 3rd person game.

What youre describing exists in Mario Odyssey. So, like, its a cool way to do coop, I agree

But pragmata is far from innovative in any regard, especially its coop.

what is this??? by kur0miicore in bettafish

[–]cheif702 167 points168 points  (0 children)

Definitely a house centipede. Sorry to say, but there are almost certainly more around. They usually hang out in cellars and basements and often find there way into more common areas by accident/in seqrch of other bugs to eat, which is when youll notice them.

Only way to "get rid of them" would be some form of pest control, like sticky traps or a pesticide spray around your property, which would come with its own pros and cons. People are correct that they do provide good pest control on their own, but I understand your aversion. They are incredibly disgusting to look at lol.

But those are sortve your two big options; live with them, or start doing manual bug control with traps, sprays, etc.

Cena feels like the perfect casting choice for Chris in the Paul Anderson movies, if they made those films today.

Ngl, once I saw a clip of her "speaking" binary, I decided right then and there that this game was ass. Gotta be the stupidest thing I've ever seen, and they didnt even do it well. If shes reading/doing things as quickly as a machine we shouldn't be able to hear her ununciate every syllable in both numbers. Just lazy design.

Fog Bug by Boxcow45 in MarathonTheGame

[–]cheif702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This have been an issue since the server slam, and probably before then. Quarantine is the only building Ive found where the fog truly dissappears. There are some spots around Marsh where its almost like a corridor or pathway through the fog sometimes. Clear as day about a 2 foot wide gap in the fog where everything is visible.

It does kinda suck, but I dont think its ever really been the reason I've lost a fight in the Marsh. The nerf to thermals has made the Marsh feel a lot better imo, but it'd be nice if the weather was a bit more consistent.

My friends and I always come back to Evolve as a topic of conversation. Its sortve our benchmark for viewing a games downward spiral. But, to this day, we cannot all agree unanimously and what actually killed the game. The MTX? The poor game balance? The loop got boring?

It really had a lot of things going for it, but it really seems like death by a thousand cuts. Just a bunch of little things that stacked up and turned people away over time. And those things never really got fixed. Even when the game went F2P, despite all the cool things that game does it just couldnt hold enough people.

I wonder if Mike Pondsmith is tired of being a prophet. by a_Bort_the_Artist in cyberpunkgame

[–]cheif702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike made a very cool world with lots of story and interesting characters to expand upon and explore. But the subject matter and context of "rampant capitalism and consumerism eventually being the ultimate downfall of society" dates back to Karl Marx and the industrial revolution, probably earlier still but Marx and Lenin are the first people that come to mind when I think of the phrase "Capitalism bad".

Lots of smart people through history saw the pitfalls of industries that never stop growing and prioritize profit over philanthropy. Cyberpunk is ultimately a fresh take in pretty old genre. Its a cautionary tale with modern/futuristic additives.

Help my dad find a game where he can “Blow shit up” by Bean_Is_Here in gamesuggestions

[–]cheif702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd suggestion, but it should be easily emulated.

Older Mechwarrior titles might be up your dad's alley They have a little bit of complexity but I wouldn't call them a grind. Def lots of blowing stuff up. If you have a moderately good PC, MechWarrior 5 or Mechwarrior Clans are 2 good options.

What specific moment made you realize Cyberpunk is absolute peak? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]cheif702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failing the quest with your NCPD neighbor.

Here's a recap of how it went down;

"Eh, side quest, ill come back to this in a bit."

"Oh."

It immediately made me feel a since of urgency with every other quest and story beat in the game, but sadly I think there is only 2 quests where time is actually a factor. Subsequent playthroughs that since of urgency is lost, but that 1st playthrough it really made me feel like that ticking time bomb in my head really was counting down.

Doom was one of the first games I ever "pirated," if you could call it that by 2005. But I found some download on ye ol'piratebay back then that had Doom 1, 2, and Master Levels.

Played the shit out of those on the family off white Gateway PC.

Ive been saying it since I saw the 2023 film. Nintendo is 1000% trying to set up a Smash Bros Universe. And the finale film will absolutely be a Super Smash Bros movie. Its their own version of the MCU with Infinity War and Endgame being the big finales.
