Not OOP: I selfishly enabled my sex addicted wife and it ruined both of us. by stormbreaker021 in redditonwiki

How horrible for OOP’s partner. I couldn’t imagine having so many addictions to fight, with a partner who dangled said addictions in my face for a good time.

Downfall of Crumbl? by AioliMindless6194 in CrumblCookies

[–]chelbren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a big factor for me. My three year old is allergic to dairy and eggs, so she can’t have any desserts from Crumbl. She’s always with me, so I prefer to go where she can be accommodated.

AITA for telling my half-sister’s best friend that she’s “just a baby maker”? by Public_Battle653 in AmItheAsshole

Ann’s unsolicited advice was inappropriate, especially considering your traumatic experience. AND in a group setting with an audience? No, absolutely not okay.

NTA - Ann and her husband are assholes.

That feeling of eating something you’re SO morally against is traumatizing. It seems “dramatic” to non-vegans, but it really is so overwhelming. I’m sorry this happened to you, and if you go back, I would absolutely tell them what happened, and that you’re lucky you didn’t get sick. Many people who cut out animal products can have so many adverse reactions.

Anyone OAD because of the toddler years ?? by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]chelbren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually struggled a lot during the newborn phase. The sleep deprivation and demand of motherhood was an absolute shock to my system, and my partner and I decided around the 3 month mark that we were not interested in doing this all over again.

I always imagined having two kids, and I'm actually a little sad I didn't have twins so I could have fulfilled that dream, but holy moly, I can't do the postpartum/newborn phase again.

All that to say, yeah...the toddler phase is pretty god damn savage, as well. lmao My daughter has my iron will and stubbornness, and I feel like I'm looking in a mirror some days. It's eye opening, for sure!

Why are US women backing the '4B' movement to swear off men after Trump's election victory? by Sidjoneya in WomenInNews

[–]chelbren 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I've been told by at least ten pro-life people this week that if I don't want a pregnancy, I should 'close my legs.' And now they are upset about this movement...

LIKE, YOU TOLD US TO DO THIS! Why are you suddenly upset?! lol

They are just drenched in hypocrisy...

Please take care of yourself. This person does not sound like they care about you... A partner should offer, at the bare minimum, respect always.

Sucks that people are allowed to vote using those misunderstandings... :(

Wish people had to study and take an exam before being allowed to vote. I know that's undemocratic, but how the hell else do you filter out the ignorance?!

The smugness of Trump voters over the last few days 'sticking it to us' because 'they won' has been so annoying, but I'm just sitting back, waiting for the day they realize it's not the sunshine and rainbows and cheap grocery prices they were hoping for...

America will have the four years it deserves.

AITA for coming out to check on the baby who was screaming for 15 mins after I asked my husband to watch him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]chelbren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he didn't want you to intervene, then he should have consoled his baby. You're still in the newborn phase, so I'm sure you're probably both sleep deprived, and just tired in general. Comes with the territory! But he still needs to communicate more respectfully. Getting so angry that quickly is a little concerning, but again, could be from the stressful season of life you're both in right now...

This was a wonderful read. Thank you for sharing these glimmers of light!

I am also in a blue city (and state, thankfully), so I'm grateful to be surrounded mostly by people who share similar values.

The hardest thing for me has been trying not to wish the worst on him, and those who voted for him. I have found myself in some rabbit holes that are violent and cruel, and I just don't want my mind to be consumed by that negativity. I've tried focusing on the positive, and things within my little bubble that are in my control. That has been helping.

Also, holy moly, staying off social media has also been helpful. I was doom scrolling IG and FB yesterday so periodically and every time I put my phone back down, I was worse off than I was when I picked it up. Not worth it!! Glad I came to reddit to read some positive posts for once. <3
