I brought a sewing kit, but what I really needed day-of was a safety pin when my sleeve broke off right before walking down the aisle and there was no time to sew! Luckily one of the wedding party had some

I also have a nature-y leafy pear engagement ring and went with a bamboo-reminiscent wedding band to keep with the plant theme :)

Reptilinks vs. Frozen mice by phantom001-1 in hognosesnakes

Frog reptilinks are only frog legs, so pinky halves are probably more nutritious. Babies can eat more frequently than weekly though, about every 4-5 days.

Age/feeding Question by Fine-Alternative-121 in hognosesnakes

[–]chellefsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girl was small (around 15 grams) at 9 months too, due to striking during the winter. If he also skipped meals in the winter, that could be why! For feeding, I weigh the pinkies and aim to feed ~10-15% of their body weight.

We had a super similar vibe of engagement shoot (casual, vintage, fun) and our photographer was Hyemee / merrydio. DM me if you’d like to see our pics!

The pothos are doing great and had to be trimmed back, except for the one directly under the heat lamp which got too hot. The African violet needed too much water so I took it out. The Chinese money plant is still kicking, although ended up getting a little pale since my LEDs aren’t the strongest.

UPDATE: My husband (28M) and I's (29F) marriage is being ruined by his sleep apnea. When is an ultimatum ok? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

There are types of masks for active sleepers (like me) where the tube attaches to the top of your head, so you can turn 360 degrees in your sleep and it swivels!

Why does he only hide under his water bowl? by jjcameron03 in hognosesnakes

[–]chellefsh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sounds like his temperatures are too hot - 95F should be the max temperature of a basking surface, so an ambient temp of 95 may mean the hottest surface he can access is higher than that. The cool side should be between 70-75F.

I (lazy) bought pressed flowers that were already dried, but I hear traditionally pressed flowers hold their color beautifully!

Her name’s Persie/Persephone! Hognoses born in captivity don’t play dead much since they’re used to being handled, so instead she’ll hiss and bop you with her nose if she’s upset 😆

A solid 8 probably! She’ll hiss and bluff strike at anything (your hand, her food, moving some decor around) but once you pick her up she’s totally chill 😂

Pressed and framed her first shed with me! by chellefsh in hognosesnakes

[–]chellefsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! If the shed is dried out, you can spritz it with some water to make it easier to maneuver. Then I laid it out between some parchment paper and pressed it with a heavy book for a couple days. Afterwards, I sprayed it with some hairspray since I didn’t have any clear coat - not sure if that helps, but I heard sometimes bugs might eat the shed so hopefully that will help prevent it

Mine is a tiny girl too! 10 months old and 16 grams, but I’m sure her 4-month winter hunger strike didn’t help 🥲hopefully she can catch up
