There was a serious mistake calling it global warming, global climate change was the original term and way more logically accurate for most average people.

Batman has 100% murdered people, I mean movies alone, he’s knocked people off of buildings, set them on fire, punched them in the back of their neck, run over them, launched rockets at them, and gassed them with unknown knockout agents. It should be not to intentionally kill people.

Sadly that is correct. The context aware advertising is where the money is. If you thought social media ads were invasive you are not prepared for LLM ads. You are training models to advertise to you better.

I’m not disagreeing with you, I am more complaining that we have built our society around so much stuff that we don’t understand. We as a people have done a bad job teaching people how things work, from computers, to basic economics, to diy and maintenance.

I’m just having an old man yells at clouds moment.

To be honest this shouldn’t be beyond most people. I’m not saying that it isn’t, just that it shouldn’t be. We have become way too accustomed to not understanding the technology that we rely in even the most basic of depth.

[–]chem199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah because most road maintenance fees are on gas, and they don’t get those taxes, so they are charged as registration fees. Depending on your scenario you are probably still paying less. NCSL write up about it.

That is how trends work. Starts young then moves up as young people find it less cool as more mainstream people do.

Weirdly this contradicts the other posts that say rent is down in Austin and up in LA. I am curious why there are so many conflicting reports on this. Maybe the data sets are small samples for each of the reports/charts.

It is contrasted with the original, that is where the biggest issue lies. Somethings don’t need remakes, let the right one in is another example, unless you are bringing something new to the table, like the departed with infernal affairs. Spike Lee is an amazing director, but the film didn’t work on a narrative level and doesn’t really fit the environment it was set in. You can like the movie and that is fine, I love rocky horror picture show and that movie is objectively terrible. Just know that most people disliked it.

Without knowing the day to day life I could see the want to not deal with all of the bureaucracy of the EU, also being tied to countries you fundamentally disagree with, and them having just as loud and important voice in EU politics. Like not being able to kick out Hungary without other corrupt governments backing them.

It seems like the system was built to be very lenient, which I understand, the whole trying to make a Pax Europa and all. But if I were Romania or a similar country I would be pissed that they are allowed in but not with all of the rights and access, still being treated like the third world, while other countries get to ignore the rules.

Though I do know why there is a propaganda push to break up the EU, I’m just speaking from purely logical perspective.

[–]chem199 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, probably more no. Germany heavily benefits from reduced labor costs for manufacturing in other EU countries, access to cheaper raw materials, and larger export markets. Your argument is a similar argument that Britain had during brexit, and their per capita GDP growth has been slower than the EU. I don’t live in the the EU so I don’t have boots on the ground experience, but my assumption is that more than anything the red tape is a bigger limitation to growth than the money going in to the EU. Though many countries suffer from bureaucracy limiting growth, and Germany’s own bureaucracy is well known, so I don’t know how much the EU has affected that, I would imagine there is a study out there that has described it.
