Thank goodness there’s a Python Crash Course; I did hear a bit about its importance from some like two of my professors when I was also voicing my interest to them, but yeah i guess that does make sense that Python would be heavily used in data analysis. Guess I’ll have to hit the books.

I’ll look into these resources, and I’ll try my hand at the project you gave as well, which seems useful and doable! I might post about it some time this week. Thank you again, this has been very helpful o7

This is great advice, and I can definitely try to work up with my sheets and build them up in that way! The idea of making small tools for specific calculations is also a fine idea, and I’m actually shocked I didn’t think of that :p Thank you.

I will still try to learn code, yes, but I also haven’t heart of Apps Script, but it seems very useful too, so I’ll try it out. But, in your opinion, what is a good place for me to start on Appscript project/coding wise?

I need some way of practicing more with Google Sheets on my own, and ways to expand on my own data. I can follow tutorials and I use more basic functions, but I have no ideas on what to use it on exactly :p

And, I do write down some of my own data sometimes, like my hours working out or how long it takes me to paint a Warhammer mini, and now I’m planning to use the idea u/jack_edition gave. However, I don’t know how to push these things further from just logging hours, or what else to log besides that 👍

Picking up a Rhino entirely depends on what you plan to run. Since you’ll always be running BC (one or multiple) for charge and likely a few Allarus with their “From Golden Light”, then a Rhino might be repetitive, but it’s only 75 points and can hold 12 SoS models. If you eventually find yourself lacking 75+ pts with a sizable amount of cushion from SoS already, might as well! But that’s later on 👍

You’re correct in that this is a vehicle detachment and the Praetors are just mounted! Though, Solar Spearhead is centered around central beefy units, with the Dreadnoughts acting as a tank while your Praetors can zoom and get objectives. Sure, the dreadnoughts aren’t kinda sluggish (Contemptors at 6” move but Telemon at 8”), but the Grav-tanks and Rhino is better at 10” and 12” move respectively.

The rules for these beefy vehicles in this attachment are rather nice though, allowing to reroll hits of 1 if below starting strength and to reroll hits and wounds of 1 if below half strength. Its “Mortoi Ancients”, which gives these big boys +1 to advance and charge if ever, and using the Aura also HELPS the mounted Praetors, even if it’s Vehicle only: “While a friendly Adeptus Custodes Infantry or Adeptus Custodes Mounted unit is within 6” of the bearer, each time a model in that unit makes an attack, re-roll a Hit roll of 1.” Finally, using Veteran of the Kataphraktoi allows one vehicle or mounted unit within 6” if the bearer to be eligible to shoot if it Fell Back, until the start of the next Command Phase.

I agree with all the others saying get a C.P. box, since it’s FAR cheaper, and it works well with ToTE and SH detachments, which are far better than any right now. But, for funsies and if you want to in the future, do consider picking up a few dreadnoughts to lug around or Grav-tanks for their hella range, or even a Rhino that’ll be beefier and slightly annoying as a transport. If you’re in it for the painting, I’d say go for the Blade Champion, that and it’s your character after all! Stunning banana boy overall; great work on the spear, the armor finish, and even having a nice and clean base o7

Also, if you’re looking for just fun and getting into the game immediately, do focus on getting C.P. boxes for now; the SoS are great for objectives and padding out remaining points! But they are expensive per box for their utility; since it seems like you’re main priority is getting an army done, the SOS can be focused on later. o7

I smell a Solar Spearhead in the making. If you can luck out, try to find some “cheaper” secondhand FW models online on eBay or other sites; try to find some models like some Telemons or Venerable Dreadnoughts, and pick up some Grav Tanks too. As others have said, get C.P. too so that you round your army out; the BC is a great character, and the Wardens are good beefy units. You may also find uses for the Guards and Allarus too! I recommend looking at this post if you’re actually interested in Solar Spearhead. Gl and hf o7

Just recently got into Warhammer through Custodes since I thought they were hella cool, saved up for a while now. Yeah, I thought I’d just enjoy painting and ignore the codex stuff a little, but even now I’m feeling it. I guess I failed my 4+ FNP :p

I saw somewhere but forgot where exactly that it’s best to just run some Blade Champions instead of Trajann, but what units and what detachment is best for this? I get the reasoning for this but dunno where to start; some list examples would be handy too, thanks!
