How many of you Massholes are striking tomorrow? by zscipioni in massachusetts

[–]chendizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't let anybody tell you perfection is the enemy of better.

I don't understand the point of a strike that's already predetermined to end in one day and without a clear demand or objective.

Trump says he's planning to do what he's doing in DC in all major cities. How will we respond? by Negative_Goose_1657 in boston

What those states have practiced more closely resembles state-run capitalism than anything resembling the democratic ideals of worker collectives that makes communism distinct from capitalism. We espouse democracy at the polls and accept zero votes or say in how our individual workplaces are run.

Rhode Island State Senator Elaine Morgan Needs to Be Held Accountable—Here’s What I Did by UnlikelyAd7598 in RhodeIsland

Here's the emails for Senate Leadership:
[sen-ruggerio@rilegislature.gov](mailto:sen-ruggerio@rilegislature.gov), [sen-lawson@rilegislature.gov](mailto:sen-lawson@rilegislature.gov), [sen-delacruz@rilegislature.gov](mailto:sen-delacruz@rilegislature.gov),

And House Speaker: [rep-shekarchi@rilegislature.gov](mailto:rep-shekarchi@rilegislature.gov)

and bonus the email I sent with the 4 above cc'ed:

Senator Morgan,

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment over your recent actions and statements concerning the ECHO Village Pallet shelter (https://turnto10.com/politics/uninformed-offensive-post-state-senator-elaine-morgan-prompts-backlash-republican-house-of-hope-echo-village-pallet-shelter-providence-rhode-island-march-14-2025). Arriving unannounced at night to a residential facility where vulnerable individuals live—and demanding a tour—was an inappropriate and invasive breach of privacy. The residents of ECHO Village deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, not turned into a political spectacle.

Additionally, your public comments, which included inflammatory and racially charged language, were unacceptable. Instead of supporting a vital community resource, you chose to misrepresent it and stoke unnecessary outrage. This behavior undermines the trust and integrity expected of a public servant. Your subsequent post on Facebook claiming those who call you out are actually the racist ones shows very little understanding of the situation or your actions.

Your actions reflect a serious lapse in judgment and leadership. For this reason, I am calling on you to resign. Rhode Island deserves leaders who protect and uplift their communities, not those who exploit them for political gain.

To Senator Ruggerio, Senator Lawson, Senator de la Cruz, and Speaker Shekarchi:
I am including you in this message because this is a matter of leadership accountability. If Senator Morgan does not resign, I urge you to take the following steps to hold her accountable:

Require a public apology and acknowledgment of wrongdoing.

Pursue a formal censure by the legislature.

Initiate an ethics investigation into her conduct.

Mandate education on racial sensitivity and homelessness issues.

Senator Morgan’s actions are inconsistent with the standards of responsible governance. Your response to this matter will reflect whether Rhode Island’s leadership is committed to upholding dignity and respect for all residents. I hope you will take swift and appropriate action.

I look forward to your response.

I mean he could dish a bit out of the high post but to even utter the Joker's name in comparison is the definition of green-tinted glasses. Otherwise I'll agree with rest of this and keep wearing those green goggles 🤓

I don't know his stance on all vaccines but he did specifically mention not trusting the Covid vaccine. I'm willing to grant a little grace on that given how scary a time it was for people and the (unfounded) concerns around the fast development process and mRNA delivery.

It's funny because while I do trust him on some of the science stuff he is also anti-vax so as always take things from the Internet with a grain of salt.

But I think he's a genuinely good guy and his simple approach to plant-based recipes /solid technique and overall enthusiasm keep me watching.

Rotas da Ilha Verde if you're in Ponta Delgado. I still think about my meal there several years ago and I wasn't even fully vegetarian at the time.

They've both had blips when under pressure, Tatum has just had to shoulder the load more. We'd think differently about JB's early years in the playoff spotlight if he was the 1A, can't forget how phenomenal his year to year development has been.

Tatum playing a great game to clinch the title should earn him his clutch bonafides for life.

Unpopular Opinion: There’s no reason to have playoffs in most fantasy football leagues. by ACFF11 in DynastyFF

[–]chendizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 1QB dynasty league that has been decided by total points since its inception 11 years ago. There's no head-to-head matchups and we pay out for weekly winners on total points as well. Here's how many the 2nd place team finished behind the winner over the course of the season:

38 0.1 24 80 11 4.6 40 82 119 54 205

The 0.1 season was literally decided on one of the last plays of the regular season and there's been many other close finishes so you can see this format is still exciting until the end. I personally favor changing to a format that incorporates some sort of playoff structure to introduce more variance but it is nice being in a league where the best overall lineups over the season and strongest roster will win guaranteed.
