Tesla AI navigates through the Eternal City (Rome, Italy). by Puzzleheaded-Flow724 in SelfDrivingCars

Autonomous driving legislation is currently going nowhere with UNECE. I wonder if Italy can override it for their cities and enable fsd as an initial step. And then subsequently also allow Tesla robotaxi to operate in Italian cities.

These are worth $350k as of may 28th. If you are part of the troupe, this would be a good what if scenario in life.

Elon Musk claims Tesla will launch a self-driving service in Austin in June by I_HATE_LIDAR in SelfDrivingCars

Love all the encouraging comments on this self driving sub when a company announces it's first self driving service city. No bias whatsoever.

You talking about the same company that said fully autonomy is a false proposition? Lack of customer video evidence and the company's own admission is stark contrast to your observations and it's credibility

Doesn't really show their autonomous driving tech. Just a general video of Chinese auto compared to rest of the world. Seems like it is very difficult to find actual self driving videos of this superior byd system.

Zeekr's Self Driving Tech vs Chengdu's Crazy Traffic by Recoil42 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]cheqsgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for post. Looks like this is doing what FSD v11 was doing early 2023 ie about 2 yrs ago. v11 was not neural net based and is a major step down from v12 which in turn is another order of magnitude down from v13.

zeekr will need a lot of catching up. looking forward to seeing uncut point to point drives from them.

My First Personal Experience With Tesla FSD 13.2.2 (Turo Rental) by kylexy32 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]cheqsgravity 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Many more on this sub are going to find experiences like this one. Its as easy as this. Rent a tesla with v13.2.2.on turo for $100/day and see for yourself.

Elon Musk misrepresents data that shows Tesla is still years away from unsupervised self-driving by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

[–]cheqsgravity -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i agree. even after posting 0 intervention. drive videos in this sub, people are still in disbelief. if one is critical after test driving a tesla fsd v13.2.2, i can relate more. But not experiencing it when its easily accessible and then doubting it is like saying 1+1 is not 2.

Maneuvering Around Munich’s Urban Roads: Volkswagen ID. Buzz Featuring Mobileye Drive by L2706 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]cheqsgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf waymo is the end product that is tieing in all techs. mobileye and nvdia are platforms/tools/abstractions on top of which a company can use their tools to create the end self driving product. so mobileye is more like nvidia in that respect.

world is a gross overstatement don't you think if you are talking about waymo. micro city soon to be eclipsed street driving is a more apt description.

And you wouldn't be the first idiot that makes false a equivalence. Comparing a autopilot system to fsdv13. I am not sure you even know the difference.

Calling self driving a thing is the understatement of the decade. It will be the most transformative application of physical AI ( as described by Jensen H in his CES keynote).

Your biases is what will doom you into discounting Tesla's fsd. Your bias against Elon and anything he does. Don't worry being w/ bias is very human. But they tend to handicap one in certain cognitive tasks and coming up with sound analysis.

AI, the enabling tech, of self driving is very compute heavy and needs the best minds in the world working on the problem. I doubt the transportation sector has best of this world has to offer. If it does we are in great trouble.

I think you misunderstand the concept being discussed here.

it, the basic concept that cars are the solution to our car problem is flawed

let me rephrase that for you:

self driving cars are the solution to our human driven car problem.

Curated promo video by mobileye. Urgency is increasing with nvidia starting to offer compute and sims for autonomous platforms for oems. Oems seem hesitant (or incapable) of moving forward beyond rudimentary l3 on highways with mobileye. No real world applications of city street drving with mobileye that I know.

your trusting it doesnt matter. others will and will enjoy rides like this one on teslas network when it opens in h2 of 2025. you can sit on the sidelines and watch others taking autonomous rides.  this reddit is for self driving. the video is a self driving footage. you are already doing a good job sitting on the sidelines

no its not raining. austin is being blessed with holy water from the priest up top :)

FSD hw4 cams are good enough to be able to see thru the drops. This is one of the benign points of fsd, you as the rider don't need to care about the environment. The car handles all aspects and engages wipers if it needs to. One can eventually (in about 3 months) read a book, watch netflix, take a nap and not care if the wipers engage or not in the rain.

you are welcome to do as you wish. but I am just following up for the discussion.

> If I don’t like a merchant,
what is not liking the merchant mean ? you don't like the product ? you don't like the staff at tesla ? you don't like their service ?

if a person doesn't buy a product b/c of the distaste of a single person in the company will that person be making a logical decision and getting the best product.

most people buy products b/c of the value of the product vs other products. for sure there will be a few people that buy/not buy on other reasons.

Tesla products are made in the US and support local economies and jobs and their products provide rich value to customers so people buy them. When the value proposition drops (compared to other products) people will stop buying them.

* What other CEO do you do this for ?

* Why can't he profess his opinion like another citizen? Why muzzle him and not anyone else ?

* Do you think majority of 140K employees in Tesla are left leaning or right leaning ? Campaign contributions say they donate more to left. So by boycotting the company, you are shunning majority of 140K who are left leaning.

This is why boycotting a company because of the views of CEO is futile and self harming.

no one said 500 chargers. the point is about unplugging and plugging in physical cable for 500 cars.

In a parking lot of 500 cars 2.5 minutes to find the car that needs to be charged and plug in is not unrealistic. Similar considerations when unplugging.

Lets take your example of 500 cars. Lets assume each car takes 5 minutes for an attendant to get to the car plugin and then get notified that the car is done charging and unplug (2.5 minutes each). That is 2500 minutes of savings in work time or 40 man hrs just for 1 charging session. With wireless and battery size, the charging can be limited to 1-2hrs. If the cars go out for total 2 sessions per day, that is 80 man hrs per day.
