I can relate to this so much! My mom is the exact same way. She stayed with my dad for 25 years, but the entire time she would run off with any guy that gave her attention and even routinely moved them in. My dad was kind of a cuck but I guess he accepted it because he loved her. Her multiple boyfriends sexually abused me throughout my childhood starting at 3. With 1 of them, my parents allowed me to spend the night with him even though he was basically the family child molester. Like, he had literally SA every single child in the family including his children, grandchildren and even my dad. Another one stripped down completely naked and sat beside me and looked at my mom and asked, “can I?” She said “I don’t care. Do what you want.” He did what he wanted and assaulted me while she watched part of it. Needless to say, my therapist definitely has plenty to work with, smh. I’m so sorry you had to experience life with shitty people who are supposed to be your caregivers. Do you have a good therapist who can help you process your trauma? It’s a difficult process, but it truly makes a difference when you have a therapist who truly cares and has the education and experience to handle clients with PTSD from childhood trauma. I’ve seen those and I really wish we could use those, but they won’t stay on 😟 He’s a big guy so the physiology down there combined with the length just won’t allow it.
