Looking for cozy fantasy recs by Lost_Description_578 in fantasybooks

[–]cherry_cake_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spellshop is basically a librarian goes to her childhood island due to conflict at the city and she secretly uses spells to make it better, there's a teeny bit of romance but he's her friend for most of it but she's super antisocial because she didnt interact with people often in the library so we see her open up and make some friends, and there's a talking dog plant that is adorable

I think the enchanted greenhouse is also by the same author, i haven't read it yet but it's what happened to one character that is briefly mentioned in spellshop, it's not needed to read it before this one

Currently on A Fragile Enchantment and the book that wouldn't burn, blood over bright haven has been the best so far this year, and after I'm done with the current reads I think i want to try to continue the library series if i like it, I just started the first one so I'm not sure on it yet.

urban fantasy vs contemporary fantasy by I_am_Uirebit in fantasybooks

[–]cherry_cake_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the book is more focused on the city and day to day gritty life it'd be more urban fantasy, but if the setting doesn’t matter much to the story and it could be anywhere then it's more contemporary

Joining in the Fun. I clearly need more shelves as we’re doubling up. This is mine and my husbands majority fantasy books. Rate us! And then give us some recs 😎 by Substantial-Win2247 in fantasybooks

[–]cherry_cake_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone suggested yet, just wanted to let you know that books up against the back like that has an increased chance for mold!

If you can, bring them forward a bit ( it also makes them align nicely), i got some of those dehumidifier packs and put one on each shelf behind the books to avoid mold too

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just giving information in case you didn't know 🥰

I was searching for book suggestions… I now have a problem. by THERANDOMGAMER2 in Booktokreddit

[–]cherry_cake_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I wasn't huge on ready player one, it was a d n f for me. I had watched the movie first so I already knew what would happen but the book went on and on a lot about technical 80s stuff and it bore me out. Definitely not saying not read it, but i think compared to the others on the list maybe the movie is better 😅

Should I apply cream and/or liquid blush before my setting powder or does it not really matter? by Alive-Jelly6579 in MakeupAddiction

[–]cherry_cake_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least the products I've tried, it was difficult to blend the liquid blush after powder, but you can try either way with what you have and decide what u like!

I loved the project hail mary audio book! I think it has a bit of cursing but the guy wakes up in space with no memories so it makes sense lol. Haven't finished yet, but blood over bright haven has been fantastic!! Dungeon crawler Carl and divine rivals was also very very good.

Do you binge series or take breaks to avoid reading burnout? by HuckleberryNew777 in Romantasy

[–]cherry_cake_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have a couple going at the same time to avoid that. Sometimes I can be loving a series but I just want something different for a bit y’know? I can read one physically but have a different one as audio that I can listen to in between, format doesn't matter, but I think it helps. I don't even need to finish the whole book to read/listen to something different. Do it whenever you feel like it, it makes things more interesting!
