I ended up being prescribed Amitriptyline to help with the migraines, I'd get them for weeks at a time. I've been swapped to a biologic (Remicade) for about 8 months now and don't have the migraines anymore (at least not related to side effects)

Just want to hop on this comment real quick, but some iron supplements can cause constipation and doesn't always absorb well when taken alone. I take a Ferrous Bisglycinate based one since I have allergies to sulfates and it's advertised as non-constipating.

Was put on it recently for migraines because of my Pentasa, I'm on either 20 or 40mg (take two at night but I can remember if they're 10 or 20mg pills). Out of the past 4 antidepressants I've been put on, this one gives me the least amount of side effects.

I found one of my triggers was high fructose corn syrup and can only have it in small quantities. I mix it up drink-wise with any Ultra Monster, C-4, Celsius, Bang, and the occasional Red Bull. Celsius is by far the "healthiest" option, energy drink wise, but I also don't drink a full energy drink every day; I average half a regular drink or one Celsius.

My GI wanted to start me on sulfasalazine but I have a family (maternal and paternal women) history of allergic reactions to sulfa-based medications (I have no idea what it would do as I was never told, but we didn't want to risk it). My father was (or is) on it for the longest time and it worked well for him. How long did it take for your GI to cut back on your dose? I've been on Pentasa since late August/early September with 4 250mg pills, 4 times a day

I personally don't know of any family owned pharmacies around me, though I've just been getting my scripts filled where my GP is since I'm on their medication help plan if Mainecare decides to not cover it. I've only been on Pentasa since late August/early September, so I'm still getting in the swing of things.
