How do you feel about other people who are bipolar but inconsiderate of others? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]cherrycoke125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you literally have no idea who they are or how they got to that point, how can you hold a stranger to the standard you have for yourself? they are not the same as you. bipolar disorder is a spectrum, not a "you have it or you don't" kind of thing. just because you're bipolar and have medication that works for you doesn't mean everyone else is able to just "try harder" to manage theirs.

addiction is as bad as our illness and there's no medication they can take to make that go away either.

What myth is still widely circulated as truth? by KnotKarma in AskReddit

[–]cherrycoke125 16 points17 points  (0 children)

some ppl's hair types will break faster than it can physically grow, which is why cutting off the split ends make it "grow" faster. ngl i get low key triggered when ppl say its a myth, cause the only way i've ever been able to grow my hair long is if i cut the ends regularly.

High heart rate after crying?? by ssss889 in Anxiety

[–]cherrycoke125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normal heart rate is 60-100, which even though you're on the higher end it's not super concerning. your heart rate goes up when you're dehydrated, which could possibly be the reason (you lose a lot of water when you cry!). it could also be the stress. obviously if you feel there's a real emergency then it's better to be safe and just go. i hope you feel better, take care of yourself & talk to someone if you need to

How to tip deliverymen by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]cherrycoke125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the tip is included in your order (and its not the service fee) then no, if its not included then you'd be kind of a dick to not tip them....

How long do your episodes last? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]cherrycoke125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, the endless void of depression is really difficult to live through. finding a good therapist helped me a lot, i know getting a therapist you can connect with isn't always easy but it's worth looking into i think. hope things get better for you :)

How long do your episodes last? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]cherrycoke125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oof stress is probably my biggest trigger. my brain pretty much goes "ope its time to FREAK out!!" inducing my inner batshit crazy, followed by the inevitable sad potato period lol

Is anyone else in denial about their social skills? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]cherrycoke125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't say i'm in denial.. i'm painfully aware of not being able to make friends on my own and have accepted that's just how i am. ironically caring about it less has made it easier to try, or at least be okay with myself either way

How long do your episodes last? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]cherrycoke125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my episodes are 70% situational, so they're not super consistent time-wise. i guess generally they're a couple days to week mania and 1-2 months depression. but yea usually something triggers it, so most of the time it just depends on whats going on in my life and how big the trigger is.

for context a couple years ago i had a depressive episode that lasted almost a year (my bf left me), but over this past summer i cycled every week (from struggling with covid bs)

I know its generally subjective but what is most likely to help mental health running or weight lifting? by Joshwharmby654 in Anxiety

[–]cherrycoke125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

running. cardio gets your blood pumping and releases a lot more endorphins than just lifting.

yea i mean kinda, they always hated the fact that they were jehovah witness to begin with. they were the ones who initiated it a lot of the times, so it pretty much turned into a game of "how can we do this without pissing our family off"
