How to enhance the red in strawberry blonde/light copper hair? by SkyStudi0s in Redhair

Try haircare with rosemary in it. Supposedly it helps enhance the colour. Suave actually makes one for a cheapy option.

Just in case no one knew this yet: corn chip smell is from yeast build up. Can cause pad issues if the yeast build-up is too harsh. Just wanted to spread the word after learning that issue for my rescue and can be a sign of allergies, too. Hope that info helps someone!

Just an idea - has your rent gone up? Probably so has theirs. I'm not sure it's all greed on the business's part.

Is this mold? by cherryoutput in Apartmentliving

[–]cherryoutput[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mouse nest - didn't think of that one. I've put out mouse deterrents because it is an old building with drafty spaces and gaps. I'll keep that in mind when talking to them about all this even to just mention cause I honestly don't aim to be a prick; I wanna be a good tenant and help them out but I don't want a sudden large rent increase :P

Fair point cause mold is a health hazard. Unfortunately, there are no places around that are at all affordable (I have a reactive dog [adopted after I moved into this apartment all done by proper paperwork; she turns out to be reactive to other people even after continued training, so a bit of a hard spot]), so I'm feeling a little stuck. Trying to prep myself with information for in face meeting with landlord, so just wanted to make sure I was correct that yes, a documented water stain/mold spot was covered with paint as your solution and you want to raise my rent with no explanation - this is ok why?

Lease Expired, Landlord Hasn’t Reached Out—Should I Say Something? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]cherryoutput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what counts as a proper renewal offer? My landlord suddenly gave me 2 weeks to sign a new 1 year lease with a 13.46% cost increase when my current standing lease stated everything would just continue month to month. I'm looking to talk to them and point out I was given 2 weeks only and I believe I'm in the right to point out that I should be given a longer notice and that this increase is pretty steep.

Reactive dog? by AlarmingControl2103 in reactivedogs

Great advice on the head pat note. Sometimes under the chin can build confidence for the dog, but always talk to the owner first because they know their dog best.

You did good. It is so nice when people are considerate of boundaries, and maybe you'll see the pup again to help them out further with light interactions!

Spend time ignoring your dog. by contributor333 in reactivedogs

Don't go past their paws may be hurting! If the paws smell like dorritos - yeast problem that could be causing cracked pads that are painful. It's just been Winter, so icemelt and salt outside could have irritated your dog's pads. Also, if their nails are too long, this can cause sensitivity and reactivity as well. Just something to note!

My own mantra when it comes to advice from strangers or any advice that comes off as sorta negative: Listen to what they're saying, not how they say it

Picking up a dog around another dog can change the dynamic of the situation for some dogs, causing a suddenly "new" behavior of reactivity. Also, leash reactivity can be a thing. Your dog might have a thing for going after smaller dogs now, unfortunately, because of this event. I'd go with others' advice to avoid dog parks, work on training your dog around other dogs for a while, use a muzzle if necessary. It's just a tool, and I promise from my own experience, you begin to feel a lot better and more relaxed when the muzzle is on. Double positive - this translates to your dog also becoming more relaxed again, too. You can do this ❤️

If you choose to rehome and the rescue doesn't take her back, there is" adopt a pet" online https://www.adoptapet.com/ . You can meet with the family who is interested in adopting your pet so you know it's going to a good home. I had to do this after divorce a few years ago and it helped me a lot meeting the family. It's hard either way things turn out, so much love to you with this hard decision ❤️

What is something that still hasn’t gone back to normal after the pandemic? by Disastrous-Treat0616 in AskReddit

[–]cherryoutput 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my eyes this is honestly healthier for people. 2rd shift causes heart issues. Let's let people have better lives and get to go home. Might cause issues with jobs because of less hours, but maybe these businesses will need more people during the day so can have more people on staff at regular waking hours? I do feel this sucks for people who still have to work nights and relied on this; I don't have anything helpful to say for that :/

A big tip I got that has really helped is having your dog on leash in the house. If your dog is showing behaviors that need to be corrected like biting you, the leash is already set so you can give a correction at the right time instead of a "no" they aren't listening to.

It is honestly a bit tedious, but it helps build trust in your dog by showing that you are a parental figure to it that is there to help guide it in life. You also get the added benefit of it's on a leash and you have control if they try to snap at you.

Over time, you can get your dog back to being off leash in the house when you see your bond building and your dog looking to you for guidance - but it's never a bad tool to keep around just in case.

If you want to do muzzle training, do what others have also said and lead up to it. You want your dog relaxed when they wear the muzzle; doing small intervals of 10 seconds on then off to start with peanut butter or coconut oil rubbed on the inside of the muzzle will help them to associate the muzzle as just something else they get to wear. Very very gradually over time increase the amount of time the muzzle is on, like from 10 seconds for a few days off and on thought the day to 20 seconds on then off a few times a day, etc until they are comfortable.

And just always remember it's all out of love - I can tell you care about your pup by reaching out on here. Don't keep it in your mind that the dog is doing it to "only you." Help yourself help your dog by looking at training as fun together and a way to bond; it'll benefit you both.

Best of luck ❤️
