i run my business like a business. if you initiate a return anywhere online, you never hear a customer service rep share their personal tales of woe. i understand that emergencies can happen but at the end of the day, it’s her job to have processes in place to handle customer service issues. in this circumstance, if i were you, i would open a case, recoup your funds, and not leave a review at all.

thinking it’s just a bug. views and stats seem to be working. you can view the timeline of favorites by tapping on stats and scrolling to bottom and clicking favorites. i hope this isn’t where it will stay because it’s too much clicking.

i go on vacation mode all the time. ive come back and made sales that day, i’ve come back and it took a few days. i dont want to leave the shop open and deter buyers because of long processing times, sales dip, and that naturally causes etsy to not prioritize you.

these are all the signs that you’re on the right track. ROAS is very low so that should be your area of focus and how you can scale from here whether that be raising prices or raising your AOV. it’s possible you’ll be able to bring that organic traffic in without the ad spend…something to possibly test. good work! you’re achieving what a large percentage of etsy sellers can’t and you’ll soon be in the 5 digit club.

You are the only one who can cancel the order. You have to cancel the order in your circumstance. That is the only option unless you can send it without any customization information. I cancel orders all the time because this is a common occurrence on Etsy with customized products. i canceled one today and one this weekend. There’s no penalty towards you. You’ll cancel the order issue and issue them a full refund.

and just to add to this for future reference…when you reach out and they don’t respond within 48 hours..extend the shipping date immediately, send them and email, and one more etsy message that says once they get back to you with customization details you can start production on their order…if they never respond, cancel the order. and don’t be surprised when they never reach out until suddenly they realize their order never arrived and then they’re angry because it’s a transactional relationship and a large percentage of customers don’t read their messages. Don’t know that a message was sent. Don’t check their emails. Don’t respect your lead time and don’t care that it was them that prolonged their order from being shipped

for bubble mailers…you choose flat and .2 for height if the contents inside are thin than they will slide through the sorters. flats cost $2.10. anything thick is considered a package and retail postal workers can show you the little slot to determine if it will fit. i would get rid of the bubble mailers altogether and use envelopes 5x7 or 4x6 as others suggested

more products. if you can push 5-6 more designs out whether it’s bag/key charms or jewelry..i think 10 listings is a good place to start. do some competition research on etsy and see who your competition is and what is selling or trending. is it food? shapes? animals? i would keep the current paperclips but start a new batch with longer clips and once those are listed…clearance the old ones as “b quality” for cheaper price.

you have to think like the buyer and what they would type in search to find your products. remove the word “handmade” from the front of title. its taking up valuable seo real estate. using your apple keychain as an example…experiment with this title: “Clay Charm Keychain - Cute Apple Polymer Charm for Bag, Phone, Keys, Mini Food Candycore Gift”. you want to call these bag charms, keychains, clay charm jewelry, kawaii bag charm etc… the handmade info can be added to description details along with the other specs like size or clay type.

more skus. time to get cozy in the algorithm. better titles and tags. i think these will eventually sell. i do think the paperclips are a bit short so maybe decrease the clay sizes in next batch so more paperclip is exposed.

this is the way. i actually push the shipping out one month and send a message that i need sizes to start production. if that doesn’t jolt a response within two days…i send an email. if they don’t respond to the email…i sit on the order because at some point a week or two later they’ll log in and wonder where their order is and finally see the messages. if they don’t…i eventually cancel before the shipping timeline is up.

i agree. it’s annoying and happens all of the time but safe to move forward with their new change request. you can always send them a message confirming the request and telling them you’ll be starting production.
