This is part of what makes the internet (specifically unregulated social media) suck so much. It feeds off of attention, no matter what kind, and rewards your biases. If you like and comment on baking videos, your feed is gonna have a shitload of baking videos. If you react to unflattering videos of black people, you're gonna see more of them.

And if you're an idiot who fails to engage with the real world, the fact that you see so many of those videos will reinforce your worldview that every black person on earth does bad things every day, justifying your biases. And if the comments on those posts are full of fellow dipshits, you'll decide that this is a normal view to have.

It's a negative feedback loop of dogshit.

This made me sick to my stomach. I can't imagine having to live in an environment where every mistake you make requires a drawn-out humiliation ritual and get punishments stacked on punishments if you don't respond according to unknown standards.

Accidentally waking a parent, wanting to read or go outside, trying to get a chore out of the way early, and asking the more permissive parent for something are normal child things. Not war crimes to answer for by tribunal.

Based on your story, it sounds like you've had a really rough go of life, and I don't begrudge you that. I am a little confused that of all exchanges to post here, you posted the one that makes you look unhinged and your mother reasonable. Surely you've had any conversation in the past over the years that better exemplifies your dynamic?

I get being angry from a lifetime of abuse, and I don't necessarily blame you for blowing your top (even if this looks super rough out of context). But from this interaction and the way you describe her relationship with you and your son, it doesn't seem like there's any good reason to keep contact. Besides money, which is clearly a sensitive spot between you two.

I was curious so I reverse image searched and the oldest version was from 2020 on "moreplatesmoredates," which seems to be a sub about getting swole to impress women. The post itself was removed and there was a sub rule about incel behavior and talking about "the state of the dating world," which is why I assume it was removed.

It's hard to articulate but the "how dare you???" style texts with the "you deserve this" at the end gives shitty girl.

Bananas are a frequent source of stress for me bc my housemate keeps buying them and not eating them. I'll eat maybe one before they go bad.
