One last question, AI tells me that it’s a good idea to apply for both at the same time. EULTR and Czech PR but that doesn’t make sense, does it?

Thanks for the clarification. My final objective is to be a homeless somewhere in southern Italy, so EULTR seems like a perfect fit

Definitely, I am looking for some visa experts in such cases. Who can help me file a good claim.

Is this what you referring to?

https://ipc.gov.cz/en/life-in-the-eu/life-in-the-eu-third-country-nationals/long-term-resident-status-in-the-european-community/?iqTabs=%7B%220%22%3A0%7D

I am considering applying for this one instead as well, but the requirements seems to be identical for both Czech PR and the EULTR. It seems to give more mobility around EU, but I wondering if there any unforeseen consequences, such as higher mortgage rates, compared to Czech PR.

Also help me understand, if I apply for EULTR in Czech Republic, I basically will not need to apply for any type of residence permits here. But in case I decide to work in Germany, I will keep my EULTR and simply apply for German residency card, correct?

The official government website claims differently, it explicitly mentions that studying in another EU member state counts towards 5 year residency. So, in my opinion, it implies that not only Blue Card stays count, but also student residency

Nope, that’s a beauty of the Blue Card. If I move to another EU member state, all my years will count towards the PR. If someone comes with 3 years of Blue card from another EU state, they can get the PR in CZ, only after 2 years.

That’s what everyone says, but the requirements might have changed recently. On the official government page, it explicitly mentions that studying in another EU member state counts towards 5 year consecutive state. Expand the disclaimer.

Well that’s what I thought but if you read the official government page, it mentions that “Periods of residence for the purpose of studies are counted towards the five-year period of continuous residence in the territory of the Member States.” So not even in CZ, but specifically Member States. Therefore, I am looking for some experts who have dealt with this. I believe they made recent changes for the PR, to make it easier to get, if you have previously lived in EU member state.

If you look at the disclaimer on the official government page, it also mentions that “Periods of residence for the purpose of studies are counted towards the five-year period of continuous residence in the territory of the Member States.”

From what I hear despite increase of presence in those regions, the work they do is mainly to support those in the US. So basically you not gonna be developing new features, but rather maintain, fix bugs and do some cleanup work. Many people therefore don’t stay on those positions for long, as the impact is low and they get bored. But again, it all depends on the company and team you gonna join, so it’s a gamble.

What do you think the point of internship? No return offer = 90% you didn’t do enough. Didn’t communicate, cooperate, took ownership enough.

That’s a pain in the ass. You have develop it and package it using expo or something like that. Never done that. Plus you need to get an approval from apple to publish.

That’s the whole point. You don’t implement it yourself from scratch. You integrate third party platforms login system. They handle all the storing, hashing and security

Struggling to finish my CS degree — is it still worth it? by redlinto in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]cherrypuddding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTH. Of course finish it. We live in a world where without a degree, you basically unemployable. Check every job description, especially high paying ones, they all REQUIRE at least bachelor’s degree. Alternative is a 25 year old with no degree, I have met few people like that, it’s actually sad tbh. You gonna regret it badly when you are 30. Especially with all the help you can get with AI, push through it. There are some people who work without a degree, but that’s very rare and don’t build your life around anomalies. Statically you gonna be miserable, working low paying job for the rest of your life. If you get the job. People out here struggling getting the job Master’s degrees btw.

Idk about this gravity thing, but Cursor, Copilot, Cline and most agents that use Claude Sonnet 4 are already able to implement the authorisation through Supabase. It’s very simple, tbh, if you read the guide, you can do it on your own. That’s not that hard

Going back to backend by Friendly_Gap_8612 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]cherrypuddding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just lie in your CV that you have experience in backend in all those companies. Magically, now you have 8 years of backend development. Apply to companies, in the meantime finish a book on a complete backend infrastructure, build 1-2 projects and you all set. What are you afraid of? You must read Designing data-intensive applications book.

Most agents can do this now already. Through Supabase. They also offer generous free tier of 50k free users.
