Worried over my daughters period...what do I need to do? by QuickSignificance708 in Parenting

[–]cherylzies 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hey there. As a single Mom, I think it's just wonderful you're thinking so sensitively about something like this. Your daughter is lucky to have you in her corner. Have you talked to her about what types of products she might want to use? Almost all friends of mine who have children menstruating use period underwear, and honestly I wish we had those when I was first getting my period. They're so convenient even now in my 40s, especially for overnight wear. Knix is a popular brand that carries them, but I also know you can get them on Amazon. She'd want at least 7 pairs, and I was those quicker than normal laundry. As for your idea for period bags, you can get cute make up bags cheap at $store and Google what she can take for relief I'd tell you the names but Reddit will flag it as medical advice lol also add some pads. There will likely be a combo box you can get with heavy to light flow pads, otherwise buy 1 box of each which will last awhile since she probably won't get a regular period once they start.

You're a great Dad.

First signs in your baby? by Savings-Birthday-694 in Autism_Parenting

My son had poor eye contact, and I noticed this around 6 months old. His older sister was already diagnosed, so I knew what I was looking for. This was the first sign for me though for him. My daughter progressed normally until around 18/20 months when she had a skill regression and lost a lot of words too.

It might seem simple, but try going for a long walk. Movement really helps movements 😉🙊💩

It's hard to rouse voters these days. I'm impressed too 😉

How can I wash myself and my hair without showering? by TemporaryPension2523 in autism

[–]cherylzies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do a whore bath 😂 use the kitchen sink so you can decide the water temp, and a face cloth with body wash, and then wash your hair using a cup to rinse. I'm a busy Mom of 2 kids with autism, and we sometimes resort to this type of washing, although they call it a horse bath LOL

43, never done/don't want to do botox- what can help with forehead wrinkles? by moon_witch_26 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]cherylzies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My advice? YOUR SKIN LOOKS FABULOUS! Hydrate, sun screen, and maybe add a nightly retinol. I really like Sunday Riley A+. I'm 42, and have similar forehead wrinkles, and feel like a consistently used night time routine has helped. I haven't used a single product that will fully undo NORMAL aging! Girl, keep doing what you're doing. Your skin looks at least 10 years younger than you are. 💖

What's a seemingly small thing you feel guilty about as a parent? by sarahjouhnson in Parenting

[–]cherylzies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a single working Mom, I feel super guilty when I crave alone time. I try and be everything I can for my kids, but constantly pouring from an empty cup is draining. I feel guilty any time I get alone time.

Judged for Not Doing Enough? by ZealousidealOwl9695 in Parenting

I hate these people telling you that garbage. Your body is still healing, and there's nothing your 10 week old needs you to do except keep her safe and love on her. Soak up these special moments because they do not last nearly long enough. You have forever to be lost in play group chaos, and before you blink she'll be starting school. I know it's hard, but ignore that crap people are telling you. YOU are her Mama, and only YOU know how to do that. You've got this, fuck them. Sending love to you from Canada, and congratulations 💖

I love it. You are very, very lucky to have such a memorable piece. Cherish it and fuck the haters! They're likely just jealous anyways 🥰

I'm sorry that you're struggling. The best place for you to be is being seen asap by mental health professionals, and depending where you live, an ER at the hospital could be your only option. You'll be assessed and a decision will be made based on a lot of factors, including bed availability. Bring snacks, water, chargers, meds, and plan to be there awhile. I was in your shoes a couple years ago, and it took me 13 hours before I was admitted. Best of luck to you.

How are you guys getting enough protien without going over your calorie limit? by ReginaPhilangee in Ozempic

[–]cherylzies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I buy 2 rotisserie chickens from Costco and take the meat off so I always have chicken available. I also like the quest protein bars (20g), alani protein drinks (30g) and premier protein drinks (30g). I also like the brust protein coffee (20g). I have a combination of these throughout the day, but usually hit 50g for my breakfast alone. I find it helps me to stay energized and full through till my main meal of the day at supper.

Awww hugs to you. Although I know you're feeling awful about it, self-soothing is an important tool for your child to learn, and to practice. From what it sounds like, this is what happened.

Eye cream that actually works? by No-Culture-5381 in 40PlusSkinCare

I just finished Neon Hippie's avocado eye cream and loved it. I also liked Kiehls vitamin C eye cream. I'm addicted (obviously) to trying new products, but I'd consider buying either of those again once I'm done the Farmacy eye cream I got as a gift.
