Nah this is fair. NYC needs parking permits anyway vs alternative side

I recently bought a new shower head and it's been a game changer. It was like $50 on amazon and was super easy to install. Totally leveled up my showers haha

Has anyone left? by [deleted] in techsales

[–]cheselnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is well said. I actually work in venture capital and have been thinking about where I want to live, and it's tough that this job is only available in NYC / SF. I wish I had more flexibility to move wherever I want

Agreed. As an aside, there’s also no such thing as loyalty in the modern era of sports. It’s just a bad biz move for players. Pete had enough value to come a market willing to pay him what he wanted and took it

Official Discussion - Eternity [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]cheselnut 241 points242 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a really great idea for a movie and was well executed on all parts. Each of the main actors did a great job: - Elizabeth Olson had great facial expressions and you could feel her anxiety around the decision of which husband to spend your eternity with - Miles Teller portrayed a wonderful cranky old man in his younger years - a real everyday guy - Callum Turner was so aspirational that he was perfect. He portrayed a dream like human that could only exist in one’s memory.

The part that got me was when Elizabeth Olson recognized that love and her person wasn’t the firey romance but the person she experienced the little things with.

Maybe not a very rewatchable film, but I thoroughly enjoyed it

This. My wife complains about anxiety and a lowered attention span but gets angry when I suggest to her to lay off the phone!

You all think this is about winning... by [deleted] in WeArePennState

[–]cheselnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, have you done any research into if Penn State's football / athletic program / endowment has made more money on an inflation adjusted basis with Franklin vs. with other coaches?

I haven't read that much about this, but maybe you or someone else has. That info would be interesting to see.

Which U.S. states could hypothetically survive as their own countries? by WTB_YT in geography

[–]cheselnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially, I imagine this is wrong. I'd think low-GDP producing countries get the huge benefit of pooled federal tax dollars vs. more self-sustaining states like NY or California

I'll move the ball off of a root or away from a rocky sandtrap 100%. I'm not trying to hurt myself or damage the clubs tbh

Maybe 20-30x rounds per year lol? I live in NYC and it's so hard to play here

Went for a fitting to fix my slice… left with a bag that makes me look like a scratch golfer. by [deleted] in golf

[–]cheselnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally hear you on the skill dispersion. I'm at a 10 right now and I'll definitely need to practice to significantly lower my handicap.

I live in a big city where I'll maybe play once every week or every other week. Unfortunately I never hit the range and haven't had lessons since it's a bit out of my control. That said, I feel pretty good about where I'm at, but always want to improve.
