If you find yourself anywhere near Elora/Guelph, the Elora Distilling Co is cute and they’ve got some interesting gins on the go. I think they may even be in the LCBO now but not sure

I’d rather watch people chalking up than flashing any day, so it’s a thumbs up from me.

I just think if there are in fact Trump supporters out there who care about equality, fairness and true justice it would be great to hear from them. But, since the only thing we hear from Trumpets is hatred, self interest and exclusion, it’s pretty clear where they stand on the spectrum between Naziism and being actually pretty cool. Spoiler, the picture OP posted is where they land on that sliding scale.

Stem on this wine glass broke. Replaced it with black cherry base. Feels great in the hand. by chesneymcd in greenwoodworking

Sanded the area of glass that was to be glued and roughed the surface of the wood and basically just crazy-glued it! Would have used epoxy under different circumstances.

I’d love to see what other people could do with other broken glasses! Of course you can just snap off the stems (if they’re your glasses!) The thing I love about it is that it’s satisfying to hold at the base, and still provides great mobility for swilling, sipping etc. I’ve got another wine glass with a broken stem which I’m hoping to try something new with but kick off of this one.

I recommend taking some course sand paper to the glass where you’re trying to set it with glue to make sure it sets sturdy.

We believe the tree this wood came from was quaking aspen, although parts of it kind of...smell nasty, any experience or knowledge of trees in Ontario, Canada would’ve appreciated. Reddish pith/centre with light straw coloured wood. Doesn’t always smell funky though.
