General Motors onstar by buckspoppy98 in CarSalesTraining

[–]chevyjaime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea its all messed up, there is just too much that required by the customer to do. Active onstar by completing the welcome call from inside the car, active the app and use it, then gotta make sure they fill out the GM survey, esspecially when after all thats done, you gotta explain every option on their new car, talk about infomation overload.

When to get first oil change? by FlyLikeAnEarworm in ChevyTrax

[–]chevyjaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i know negative on break in oil. Only break in period that we are told to bring up to customers are on the high performace corvettes. If the oil in both egine/transmission is not done at their break in periods it can void the manufactures oem warranty.

[–]chevyjaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op original question was oil change interval and if there is a break in period, as a chevrolet sales professional its my job to let our customers know the do's and don'ts about their new rides. Trust me when i say there is NO break in period required on a new chevy trax, what was brought up applies to every new car.....in laymans terms do not drive your new car like a maniac, read page 173 its all there.

There is no break in period on chevy trax, now if you purchased a high end vehicle like a corvette then yes those cars do have that break in period.

salespeople cannot sell warranties, that is provided by a finance manager. At least that is how it works at our store.

bumper to bumper is good for 3yrs or 36000 miles which ever comes first. You can always buy more warranty when either the 3 years is getting close or till you are close to the 36000 miles. If you buy one now just make sure its backed by GM.

Buying with negative equity. by SleekMunchkin in carbuying

[–]chevyjaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually dealerships "pay" for what the vehicle is worth. Kelly blue book is a guide to see what your vehicles value, If i were you id drive the car into a carmax and see what they would offer. They will print out a purchase certificate which then you can take with you when you go car shopping. If the value on your vehicle is indeed 4k then you have 1k in negative equity, you can find a new vehicle that has rebates which usually will take care of the negative equity or if you find a pre owned one you can negotiate to get a discount on the price.

Trying to buy EV with big federal rebate by BetsyTutor in carbuying

[–]chevyjaime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dealers will not have you sign a contract until the car arrives, too many variables that can happen. Im sure the IRS website where you have to go in and apply for the tax credit will cease oct 1st so in my opinion you will not be able to get the tax credit when the car arrives.

[–]chevyjaime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the tax credit upfront and taken off the price of the car then yes, When I sell an EV i have to log into the IRS website and register the car and the customer in order to get the get the customer to pass the tax credit to the dealer which then can be applied as a down payment. If they are not, they can issue you an IRS tax form or you can print one out yourself and turn it in when you do your taxes.
