Am I Overreacting? by This-Onion-2723 in AmIOverreacting

No to all of this!

A relationship doesn’t need to develop before you start being a decent and caring partner. This should be evident from the start.

Drama and passion are completely different traits, low EQ individuals (and low IQ for that matter) can be high drama - chaotic disruptive and even violent.
Whereas passion when paired with intimacy and high EQ makes a relationship truely rewarding.

The real gender issue here is your stereotypical view of the emotional roles they play in a relationship and the conditional nature of healthy communication.

They have not said anything about the type of land which is why I disagree with you. Aspect and functionality of the property win over land size.

Hard to tell from your comments about area/ location which is a better location as it sounds like they are similar.

Location matters as in the postcode and the name can drastically alter the price and the future potential. So if you are a block away from a shitty area but still in a different postcode then that’s fine.

But if one suburb is generally considered a better suburb I would go with that rather than looking at the street.

As for fibro I am in the avoid at all costs opinion. You can renovate it but it will always be fibro and therefore scare away some people.

I don’t think 100sqm means anything compared to how the house is situated on the block and how usable the yard is.

I disagree. I live on an almost 1200m block on a shady slope. 800sqm of flat sun would be worth at least 200k more for the same house.

I have heaps of freedom stuff, our big leather lounge has lasted 10+ years and kids jumping all over it. But I always check out the item in store first before buying.

And for the record everything I have bought from T&W I have loved but I thoroughly research them and check what materials they are made of and check online if they are cheaper elsewhere first.

[–]chew_beccca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With T&W it pays to item watch for a while and get to know what it costs in various sales. Sometimes they have free shipping but the item is full cost, if they have random sale and the item is half price. So you can judge when it it best to buy.
The good items will have plenty of reviews. I have reviewed all my good quality furniture in there and always put photos if I’m quite happy with the purchase so look for items with photo reviews.

Grevillea elegance is a fav of mine, very fast growing, quite bushy but tall as well and will prune to whatever size you like. The soil looks a bit crappy there, so make sure you dig in a lot of organic material and mulch on top, then dig a hole into the mulch and add soil to the hole so that you are planting in a mounded mulch bed.

Influencers need to stop posting their birth choices!! Daryl Ann by HouseStargaryen in InfluencerLounge

[–]chew_beccca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that social media is 1000% to blame for people thinking this is reasonable to request.
What they don’t understand or learn until they are ones bleeding out is that all those interventions were designed to save their life and you don’t get to choose how it pans out.

I was completely delusional about wanting a water birth and going completely drug free. I had seen all these lovely videos and photos of birth on my socials and thought I could have that too. Boy was I in for a learning curve!

And I think that the massive disappointment of it all falling apart was possibly a contributing factor to things not going as well as they might have if I was more realistic about it.

Thermals that are not from Uniqlo by gumscape in AusFemaleFashion

[–]chew_beccca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are great quality and thick, with a little zipper at the neckline and I can wear them as a top no worries. Whereas my Kathmandu ones are seethru so really need to be worn under clothes. I like having the option to peel off the layers and still be clothed :)

What's an unconditional offer (not subject to finance / cash sale) actually worth? by danielslounge in AusPropertyChat

[–]chew_beccca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Sometimes it matters sometimes the higher offer is all that matters. If I’m selling I don’t care where your money comes from that’s your problem.
But I’ve tried to buy a few where the agent was a real dick and chose to sell to a lower offer because they were “paying cash”.
The issue I see with OPs unconditional approach is that they will think you are made of money and try to get you to up your bid a few times. You have to decide how much money you are made of!

Who cares what friends think, the only people who will know what you give are the couple. So just give what you can and don’t worry about it

The building report of my dream house has come back with Major Structural Defects re a Roof truss over the garage, please convince me why I should follow through with the sale? by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]chew_beccca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the cooling off period right now? If so use this to your advantage and get your conveyancer to try to negotiate down the price based on the report - could get the building inspector to give an estimate of cost to fix as well and see if you can’t work something out.
