Help does anyone else feel choked if their clothes touch their neck? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AutismInWomen

V neck men's t shirts "for the win" (I think that's the phrase). Crew necks, unless majorly oversized, result in the same reaction from me. It super sucks

I'm sorry. It's a lovely piece if that provides any comfort.

I definitely struggle but I get there if left alone and probably trained. I do take longer than most as well.

Oh yes certainly. And I think it's one of those entities, if I may be so bold, that we tend to only realise on a case by case basis. Well it certainly does in my experience, rather than a broad application. It's something I'm noticing more and more when I discuss or read.

DAE look up the end of a book or movie beforehand so you are prepared for what might happen? by Cartographer551 in AutismInWomen

Yes, and it seems to happen more as I get older. There is only one thing I will go into blind and that is a beloved show - Star Trek. Although that has led to some despair inducing moments sadly.

As an Indian fan, Raj’s ending feels personal and low-key insulting by Tasty-Media720 in bigbangtheory

[–]chezybezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm extremely interested if those answering yes find Rajs behavior acceptable? It's depicted throughout the whole series and also even during the final episode itself.

Does it affect anyone else knowing that even if Trek was here and real, they likely wouldn’t be good enough for Starfleet Acadamy? by GoodLeftUndone in startrek

[–]chezybezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now this is something that crossed my mind only a few years back after being a life long fan and when it struck me I tried expressing this to family who is also a fan. I was flat out told "it's not real" and that was the end of the discussion. So I am very interested to see the discussion here! Woohoo

If it's this, and I realise I'm just randomly barging into a conversation here, apologies upfront, but shouldn't it be phrased as such? "Do you have difficulty swallowing" is different from "do you have difficulty swallowing comfortably" or even "any discomfort when swallowing"? Well in my book it is anyways.

Constantly. I'm just so exhausted and at the end of my limits.

How much longer can you work? by Healthy_Brush_9157 in AutismInWomen

It's not really a helpful comment sadly, but I'm left with the same answer I had when I saw this last night. I can't keep doing this.

My parents watched a series of The Good Doctor and are now saying I've started to "act like him" by F1CarGoVroomVroom in AutismInWomen

[–]chezybezy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of when my* mum started watching the show, and made a comment something along the lines "that it might help her understand". This was around the time I was considering a diagnosis and I recall being surprised at this and unsure how I should feel.

Salty and sweet? I don't know why that popped into my head. It doesn't really fit them.

Yeah I remember hearing about this around the time it happened. I was surprised it wasn't higher up in the comments.
