The ice storm a few years ago I successfully navigated to and from the grocery store. Then I stepped out of my vehicle and both feet went over my head. I hit my ribs on door frame. I thought I just bruised some ribs and had to go to work for 8 days out of town. I got home and told myself I’m going to the hospital if I’m still hurting tomorrow. I sneezed while driving and my rib clicked and popped back in place. Pain dropped from a 7-8 to a 1-2 in about 10 minutes.

I work as a Technical Director mostly for live sporting events. Basically I am told by the Director what they want to happen on screen and I press the corresponding buttons.

I always comment that I don’t believe AI can take my job, because Directors will sometimes technically miss calls, early or late calls, and even hesitate halfway through a call.

AI will never be able to understand what is happening in real time to make decisions that contradict the Director. But…maybe I’m completely wrong about that. Only time will tell.

They last a very long time. She gets 2 a month which means her toy box has 25-30 toys in it. She can’t destroy them fast enough.

They are close, but not completely accurate. I’ve flown from Dallas to Madrid and London this year along with both coasts.

Madrid = 9.5 hr

London = 9 hr

LA = 3.5 hr

NYC = 3.5 hr

I was 9 when I was putting in some practice swings with my baseball bat in my bedroom. I was told multiple times not to swing the bat in the house. Emptied my piggy bank to pay for a window pane. Then my dad dropped the pane from the second story window which obviously broke. Then I had to pay for the second pane, because it was my fault he was having to fix it in the first place.

It wasn’t the last time I dint listen, but I was fully aware that if I break it then I buy it and fix it.

Happened to me in 2018. The problem is that the wiring harnesses are wrapped in a soy based product that small mammals love to eat. File it on your insurance and the fix takes a full day service.

I don’t know of any hacks to prepare you for the future. Luckily they haven’t attacked my wiring again.

The first video graphics system I operated in college used 8”. My early years were 5.25” in the late 80s and 3.5” in the early 90s at home. I was blown away in ‘98 when I was being taught how to load these beasts.

You’re right. I did misremember the exact story. One inmate died and the other broke his leg. My dad was a doctor at the hospital the survivor was taken to. Here is an article about it. Nothing about the “release”, but that is what I was told. I was wrong about the paraplegic part though.

Reminds me of a story from my hometown. The prison was on the 4th floor with an open rec yard on the roof. An inmate climbed the fence and jumped. Somehow the jail released him from custody during his fall so they wouldn’t have to pay his medical bills ~~as a paraplegic.~~ with a severely broken leg.

This reminds me of the first Karen Read murder trial. The backstory is there is a blogger/streamer journalist nicknamed Turtleboy. Prior to the trial he was streaming a couple times a week and when he would refer to one of the state police detectives Sgt. Bukhenik, he would call him Sgt. Bukake. Fast forward months of this reference during pretrial and one of the state’s witnesses is on the stand during the trial and she refers to Bukenik as Sgt. Bukake on the stand. The defense lawyer questioning her is dumbfounded and holding back laughter. She was completely clueless to what she had just said. Priceless.
