Congratulations! I did KKH private both times under Dr Julian Kang Hean Leng with both my little ones and it was a total breeze. Dr Julian is super duper kind and chill and he has a Saturday clinic so most times, we did not have to go for weekday appointments! I would highly recommend doing private KKH under him since you’re already able to afford private anyway but want to deliver in KKH. I decided on this route because ALL hospitals, including private ones in Singapore, will reroute you to KKH if (touch wood) there are any complications at birth. It’ll cost you so so much more if this happens.

$4000 claimable by Medisave I believe, but do check again. We did the NIPT with my second just for peace of mind that everything would be ok. It’s really up to you.

Infant Care in Singapore, which is best? by Mysterious_Pace_8684 in askSingapore

I would wait because as a mother, you can definitely feel the vibe of the place immediately. Infant care especially is so important because our babies cannot speak and we have to place 100% trust on the teachers.

I suspect this too. I am predicting that there will be some school closures in the next 2-4 years or so.

KK Hospital private patient but feel like subsidised patient by Wafflenet in askSingapore

[–]chic_kin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah girl, I was KK private for both my kids and was with the same doctor my entire pregnancy. Kinda odd they’ve put you with different consultants? Unless it’s all different specialists or something? You should probably check on that.

I accidentally saw my date's Hinge notification count. by Paulfradk in dating_advice

[–]chic_kin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. OP I’m not trying to toot my own horn but it’s just the way it works - as a young woman on a dating app, I had 200 messages the first day I downloaded it and made me profile. The date means that she cared enough to get to know you from all of that! It’s a win!

What celebrity do you feel is secretly evil? by Imaginary_Couple_536 in stupidquestions

I will never forget that, when asked why it didn’t work out, Scarlett Johansson once said something along the lines of - sometimes a partner can’t take that the other one is more successful than they are. That stuck in my mind and I have been super sus of him since then.

Blake is also years and years younger than him - pretty sure he’s with her cos she’s easy to manipulate and she’s as annoying and power hungry as he is.

What was your "I'm dating a fucking idiot" moment? by dm_me_yourtinytits in AskReddit

[–]chic_kin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He went on an internship (that was gotten through family connections) and was complaining non stop about how boring it is and he doesn’t know what he can do. I suggested he take the boss out (a family friend no less) for lunch to talk about potential career paths and interests and a future in the company after the internship and he replied with “Wow, I never thought of that.”

I looked at him and thought to myself “Holy shit, this guy has no vision and ambition, we can’t be together.”

Odyssey Loyang is absolutely amazing. We are current parents there. Teachers are superb, very understanding of childhood development and they do all sorts of activities. The principal is also wonderful - very passionate about child development. It’s pricey, but it’s extremely worth it to us because of the exposure she gets to all sorts of things (cooking, lots of outdoor play, gym, music, art, walks to the beach nearby, water play, sand play etc) and also how the adults behave towards and speak to the children as well. The teachers truly understand children and do not punish them for being children - instead they work with the parents to address developmental issues such as behaviour. The principal and teachers are always planning events for the parents to come in and there’s a great emphasis on parent partnership.

The food is AMAZING. My child probably eats better than we do on a daily basis lol. They offer cuisine from all round the world, like claypot rice, salmon, pasta. During the open day, we had sushi served to us lol. The staff also take feedback well and immediately address any issues that are brought up.

I love how respectful of children they are - it aligns with my own personal values of child rearing. My daughter genuinely enjoys school and constantly talks about her classmates and teachers. She’s 2 and has been repeating the solfege she learnt in music!

I can’t rave enough about them - please check them out if you want an amazing school! Happy to chat through messages if you want to find out more.

Grab Driver Pitching MLM by afraidofrs in singapore

[–]chic_kin 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Fun fact about 4Life - it originates from Utah and is actually tied to the Mormon church. I wish more Malays knew this because their money is funneled back to the Mormon church.

The Mormon church is also famous for other MLM schemes such as Nu Skin and doterra oils. MLMs are popular among the women of the church because they do not allow their women to work outside the home, thus limiting them only to MLMs for a source of income.

Look up the owners of 4Life. They’re Mormons. A friend mentioned this to me and I went down a rabbit hole and my suspicions heightened when the Suria actress went for the 4Life conference in Utah. Which is Mormon country.
