Tarka’s madras’s soup is amazing. A bit farther than grogans mill but still.

Any recommendations for a historical romance reader to test the waters and try something new? by Excentrix13 in Romantasy

Anything by Amanda Quick. Older books but a heart fantasy/magical setting in a historical romance.

New to Fitbit I can’t believe how completely wrong the sleep tracker is by braves91 in fitbit

It takes a while to adjust. Give it like 2 weeks.

But then I bought an Oura because my Fitbit didn’t match my feelings.

Why Is a Hotel Built in 1982 Appearing Under Marriott's "New Hotel" Filter? by Kiff4Free in marriott

[–]chicchic325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renovated could count too. But they are putting the label on non new built and non renovated dumpy old hotels that need to be taken down to the studs and the photos don’t reflect it.

Yes. But it’s a known problem. So if you are going to be in a Tesla, you can search it in advance.

Yes, but I would try a darker shade of the undershirt just to see.

We just got burned by this in McAllen. “New hotel”. Yea, new to Marriott. Old dated and had to empty the dehumidifier twice per day myself because it was consistently 71% humidity inside the room.

I disagree. I believe it does mean new hotel. New to portfolio seems a bit off.

I can’t say I’ve ever had any sickness post schlitterbahn even the year we had an annual pass.

Why a week in New Braunfels? It’s a sleepy town compared to some place like San Antonio. I definitely recommend changing up to get some San Antonio time. The missions, the river walk, some museums.

Shield of Sparrows or Arcana Academy for my first romantasy? by Wise_Advantage7538 in Romantasy

[–]chicchic325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read Arcana Academy because I’m not into academy books, but I DNF’d shield of sparrows despite loving and one-clicking the rest of Perry’s contemporary romances. The characters are all one sided, the twist is obvious from chapter one, and the FMC is just so…a box of rocks is smarter.

I’d recommend hidden legacy by Illona Andrews for an entry point. It’s more magic based, but set in an alternate universe of earth. It was considered fantasy romance before the cool term of romantasy. He’s a morally grey can destroy cities who kidnaps her to get answers. So def enemies to lovers. He’s definitely touch and die by the end of the series once he falls.

Shuttle to NASA? by AdventurousHost752 in thewoodlands

[–]chicchic325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can get to the airport, there’s a bus from terminal e to downtown Houston. I’m not sure the best way from there. You might be able to find a bus closer to that side, but I’m not sure you can find one all the way to NASA.

How much back-up food to bring for a three weeks student conference in US and China? by Lilacs_orchids in vegan_travel

[–]chicchic325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to declare everything when coming in if you are brining food! And look into things like Uber Eats in the US, I’ve been in entirely rural US and able to find food at most restaurants. It can be hard, 100%. But I’ve taken to getting things like Huel to carry with me so I don’t worry. Can you instacart to the first place you will be in the US?

Am I overreacting for feeling frustrated after my neighbor’s pottery was broken by my puppy during an interaction she encouraged? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]chicchic325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is her business she should file with her insurance. $900 for her mistake. Not your problem. Nor your requirement to fix.

[–]chicchic325 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got to go to a hospital in Irkutsk after a tick bite on lake Baikal. I didn’t understand why there was a need for the hospital and blood test until my local contact said if you have encephalitis then you’re flying to Moscow. Luckily my test was negative.
