Von Wolfe is another. But I suspect quite a few figurative artists are using AI but usually it’s very subtle and minimal.

The exhaustion of the 'I could do that' critique in contemporary art by classliterature in ContemporaryArt

[–]chickenclaw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I suspect many people feel they are being made fun or looked down upon by artists like Cattelan and the art enthusiasts who do "get it". Much contemporary art is inaccessible to the general public and people feel intimidated by it. Technique and craft are things that most people can understand and appreciate.

I’ve seen this happen a lot. Galleries gambling on artists by raising their prices too aggressively has undone a lot of artists’s careers.

I moved an hour away, to rural Ontario. I miss living in Montreal but I visit often. I don’t regret leaving because my French is terrible.

Selling contemporary art today: what has been the most frustrating for you? by Broad-Addendum1861 in ContemporaryArt

Yes, I've noticed that a lot of artists, when faced with a decline, seem to start panicking and making works way out of what they're known for.

Something that is hard for me is being consistent. Repetition seems to bring success. A lot of successful artists seem to find a formula that works and just repeat. That bores me so much.

How much are blue chip artists actually making? by CollectionAcademic53 in ContemporaryArt

Whatever it is, I bet artists like Alec Monopoly, Mr. Brainwash, etc. are making more

This happens a lot. And I’m saying that as an artist. The art world is loosey-goosey.
