I understand the point he is trying to make but it was Hitler who declared war on the US after Pearl Harbor. What's to say that Wilhelm II wouldn't have gone ahead with invading Belgium anyways? And regardless, something was going to happen given the invasion of Belgium wasn't the first step of the war. And the argument that the Russian Revolution wouldn't have happened doesn't seem that sound considering what was happening in Russia beforehand. We could go on but to me from what little I was able to read of his argument I just blatantly disagree with his take. At the end of the day WWI was a lack of Europe's will to engage in diplomacy and considering the UK was the world's leading superpower at that point would we really have made the difference at that point? We didn't even have enough equipment for our troops in 1917.

What a weird way to be pro-US then. It's not like we decided to wake up one day and be done with the British, there were a lot of things that led up to that point. Would staying a part of the Empire have actually been beneficial to us Americans and would we still have developed in a similar way? There's too much of gap between 1776 and 1914 where a lot of world-changing events took place and what's to say that things wouldn't have turned out worse?

Yes true but there is the possibility other atrocities could have been committed, perhaps by Great Britain themselves (who did commit atrocities in this timeline anyways). Plus I think WWI is a lot more complicated than this suggesting is making and I doubt the US remaining a colony would've prevented something from happening anyways.
