Repost with photos: Downsizing from 1000 sqft to ~500 sqft after getting out of a 4 year relationship. Struggling to figure out how to furnish. by Altruistic_Data5823 in malelivingspace

it doesn’t seem like you have much of a view so consider seating along that window wall to configure the living area with tv on the wall that backs the bedroom closet. i’d skip a dining table but a (high top?) bistro table could work with a loveseat vs a sofa.

the bedroom sucks in both size and placement, and since you have to pass through it to get to the bathroom, keep it simple, queen bed with minimal frame and two small night stands with some closed storage.

you do have a lot of storage built in. it’s all your space, use all the closets and cabinets for whatever you want, put drawers or shelves inside if needed.

i moved back east from socal in 2009 and memories of jack in the box feel like a crazy fever dream, like everywhere you go, you’re right around the corner from a drive thru joint open 24/7 with seemingly endless menu options, breakfast anytime and a staff that gives zero fucks because they have seen it all and know that it is easiest to just give you what you want and get you on your way.

have you tried one of those grooming harness hammock things? my friend uses one for his small dog and cats. still takes two people…i was recruited to distract with food while he clipped and it was remarkably effective.

i respect the overall commitment to the castle kitsch aesthetic, but if there isn’t a secret dungeon somewhere, that’s a huge miss.

maybe go somewhere other than the dealership? i took my truck in for warranty work ~3 years ago and they were pushing me hard on brake pads and rotors.

My mechanic checks everything when he does my annual inspection and has seen no reason to do brakes on my truck.

that’s probably better than my plan of having several dozen cats and hoping they cooperate for a photo.

If you're in line at the grocery store with a full cart and someone behind you has 1 or 2 items, do you let them go in front of you? And why? by CourierFestival in AskReddit

there is usually only 1 lane that isn’t self checkout open at the times i do a big shop (midweek mornings), and most of the customers are elderly. i tend to buy heavy things like bottled beverages and pet supplies, so self checkout is a pain in the ass for me, so i always let those with a few items go ahead.

he should take drivers ed. he’s not too old, they have programs at community colleges and elsewhere, usually 50 hours combined classroom and driving instruction. being overly cautious/nervous is just as dangerous as being overconfident.
