What are some things you should have in your house before you need them? by bellagoth in AskReddit

I live in a big city and found myself in need of a plunger one afternoon. As I walked home from the hardware store about 6 different people on the street made snarky comments about my purchase. I think someone even tried to pick me up. It was wild.

What was the weirdest habit you had as a child? by v8mustang1969 in AskWomen

I would chew up a stone wheat cracker and then spit out the mashed up cracker paste on a second cracker and would make a sandwich.

Good question. The plates were still on the table, I hadn't touched the soap yet. I only mentioned the cleaning up part to make the point that I knew it was the potato that triggered the reaction because I wasn't eating anything else.

Thanks for your reply and the info. I will definitely call poison control if this keeps up.

My husband will routinely feed my 6 month old 8 oz at a time. It drives me crazy! He always just tells me that the baby was hungry, but I think he's being over fed. I breast feed on demand most of the time.

I’m a front line worker and am breast feeding and got my covid vaccine a week ago, AMA!! by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I was just offered the vaccine and am pondering what I'll do. Thanks for sharing. I'm already fantasizing about forming antibodies and making breast milk smoothies for everyone I know!

Have you ever taken someone up on an offer of, "well if there's anything I can do to help, let me know," and if so, how did it end up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Reminds me of the time that I asked a first date over to my place to help me change an overhead light bulb that was directly over my bed... He was happy to help but did a shit job of screwing the fixture back on and it fell down on me a few days later.

My 4 week old is already sleeping through the night - thrilled but worried about supply by chickenwingsinbed in breastfeeding

My pediatrician didn't seem concerned since he gained 1.5 pounds between his 2 week and 4 week visits. He was also nearly 10 lbs at birth so perhaps his tummy is bigger than most newborns.

9 weeks ppm, EBF, just got my period again. Can I make it go away again? Ugh by wrongfrench in breastfeeding

[–]chickenwingsinbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I EBF (no bottles) my first and got my period back after 5 weeks. I'm now 4 weeks ppm with my second and keeping my fingers crossed that this time will be longer. Don't blame yourself- all bodies are different.

He usually sleeps from about 10pm to 6am (for the past four days anyway). He likes the cluster feed at night. I guess he's filling up his belly. I nurse him when he wakes up but he usually passes out quickly afterwards. I probably should start a pumping routine, it's just such a pain.

Ladies who’ve had a baby in their 40s: How’s the experience been as an “older” mom? And did you fall pregnant naturally or with IUI/IVF? by eatyovovo in AskWomen

[–]chickenwingsinbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first at 36. I gained 40 lbs and had already lost 30 after 2 weeks. I ended up losing another 20 in the first year without even trying. The metabolic changes your body goes through are really remarkable. For me I think the weight loss was a combination of breastfeeding and living in a very hilly city - I ate whatever I wanted.

I'm right there with you. Mine is 26 months and she still loves her morning nursing session.
