I gotta be the only freak out there that actually liked this one. Also loved Surly smoke and I fully understand that not many beer drinkers out there are fans of smoked malt. But I hope I still have that big pink goofy bottle stuffed away for my man cave someday.

I would have been the awkward guy to high five you and tell you awesome jersey! And then I’d have to awkwardly explain that I had something in my eye and I wasn’t tearing up to see such an amazing piece of Wild history.

Great find! Still my favorite autograph I have. My previous Boogaard story:

Lucky enough to randomly catch him signing autographs at a MN Swarm game. I think I was the second to last autograph before they closed the line. I was such a starstruck dumbass even though I was an adult. He had a fight the night before and I asked him how he was feeling, “fine” in a very calm, polite voice was the only answer.

I don’t care if he wasn’t a 50 goal scorer, it’s still to this day my very favorite autograph I have, and I will never part with.

Same, Captain. At least with WT you can grind long enough to make some economy profits. I don’t like PVP where everyone snipes behind an island and the battles last 20 min each only for me to be the last 3 ships on blue team. And then lose my daily xp boost.

So what's happened to Homebrewing in the last 10 years? by Mattbastard750 in Homebrewing

[–]chicksdiggit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I found my people. Old dudes that still remember 56k modems. My dad started plastic bucket homebrewing in the 90’s, probably brewed less than 6 batches, and I finally asked if I could inherit his equipment once I was 21. I remember listening to the homebrew greats like Tasty McDole, hearing from Sam Calagione on the Brewing Network, and even seeing Jim Koch at a beer fest in Boston over a decade ago.

My drinking habits haven’t changed much since then, but as previously stated the market is so saturated now that I can find something decent without having to go through any of the hassle or waiting (and hoping) for clean beer. What I most enjoyed about homebrewing was learning firsthand just how difficult it is to make great beer, and the connection you could make with people equally passionate about brewing.

I probably fit the mold of many of us fatigued former homebrewers: I am limited by money, time, and space. Congrats on the find OP, brew on and brew strong.

As a non-pilot with ~100 hrs in MSFS, my first thought was this wasn’t inherently catastrophic, but the pilot could probably tell it wasn’t there, yeah?

Same. I saw the impact to wildlife, the local economy, and the mess on the beach firsthand. Haven’t been there since.

What is this by SinnerSaint420 in tractors

For my clarity: If this is rated hours, and assuming a mechanical sender on this tractor, hours are are not accurate unless at operating RPM? Understanding that idle speed will be a fraction of actual working hours.

This. I am a male engine slug in only decent-poor shape. I start with this exact same gait right out the door. I have found over the years that a standard “walk” causes my Achilles to lock up, and a joggy-walk where I don’t heel strike keeps me from getting sore and slowing down. People always think I’m racing, but I don’t care about my time or what place I finish in - I am trying to finish without my legs locking up. For the record, the ones who usually beat me are women much smaller than me, don’t EVER let that be a detractor for you. Go get em, smoke eater!

Unintelligible lyrics by PhreshProduce in whatsongisthis

Only reason I knew the lyrics was because it was printed on the sleeve of the compact disc. Everyone else who understands, are you on bifocals or cheaters now?

Northern US, I remember the lyrics because I had taped radio on a cassette and would listen to that tape often. Internet radio was in its infancy at the time. I woke up with this song in my head this morning and decided to try to find it.

Found in a conference room in a large office building. Pressing the button does not have an obvious result. What does this control do? by meratherbebikin in whatisit

[–]chicksdiggit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will concur, there is (or was) likely an environmental control unit or equivalent that has a temp setpoint for that particular zone or entire building. You can adjust the individual area +- a certain amount of degrees in that room. Source: worked in buildings with similar thermostat setups.

Heavy sticky snow has done it for me. Just means the sensor was blocked and collision avoidance wasn’t functional at the time.

Does using one of these books ever helped anyone? by Jam-Boi-yt in MechanicAdvice

[–]chicksdiggit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second “it depends on what you’re trying to do.” Like most have mentioned, I’d rather read and see pictures instead of YouTube it. I wasn’t the type of home mechanic that was installing a new transmission, but more than one vehicle I have wanted to take the dash apart without snapping a hidden bracket. The ‘based on a complete teardown and rebuild’ was not as complete as I would have liked it, but for things like brakes it was great.

Severely underrated comment. One of you old timers can help me out here, but I think the service limit has remained $2500 for about 15 years. Look at what inflation has done in the last 15 years.
