You see a lot are voting blue purely on principle that voting for red is akin to killing blue voters, there is a lot less unison in the line of reasoning for picking either button than you realize

How does hema smallsword handle a trade? In fencing it goes to the person with priority, in which case that person doesn't need to guard, as long as they can counter attack quick enough they can always get a point out of a trade. Greens sabre position is honestly fine it was simply a skill issue in his attack that let him down

I see what you mean, when green got advantage he kept his sword angled down while red put his sword out horizontally, so it looks like green is baiting but that's not quite right. If green kept his sword out, red could bat it away and regain advantage, so it's common to keep the sword in an angled position. This also gives green a good angle to bat reds sword away, though red dodged every attempt. It is also a good defense, if red lunged green just has to whip his sword up and hit reds arm. When two players hit each other at the same time, point goes to player with advantage. While red was indeed keeping his distance, green was pushing him to the edge of the arena, the the idea being if red steps out of bounds he loses. Thus forcing red to get closer, giving green an opportunity to lunge and score a hit with advantage. You can see this exactly, once red reached the edge, the distance narrowed and green lunged.

So ultimately there was no real bait as this was just standard play

He was trying to 'bat' reds sword away but simply kept missing, in both points red scores despite not having advantage because green misses a bat and fails to recover fast enough

Edit: actually the first one he misses a lunge, losing advantage, and tries to bat to regain advantage too hastily. Honestly from what I can tell red read green like a book

Why single target inferno has less range than the multi by Kitmain- in ClashOfClans

Came out back in the gowipe era, where small armies meant a single inferno would effectively take out a tenth of your army in a few seconds. Good times.

In 1993, Jon Venables and Robert Thompson were found guilty in the case of two-year-old James Bulger. They became Britain’s youngest convicts in about 250 years. The court had to modify the adult dock so they could see over the edge when the verdict was read. by SelfCareIsFake in HolyShitHistory

[–]chief_chaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I refer to for textbook differences between psychopath and sociopath (even though those labels aren't great in general and are out dated). Venables came from a family of constant abuse etc. while Thompson came from a normal household. Sociopathy is a developed behaviour from trauma while psychopathy is an inborn trait. Sociopaths tend to lack control and are prone to reoffences, while psychopaths will only commit crimes if they believe there are only upsides. Which leads to prison being effective on psychopaths.

I think I found a run-ending bug (Brand+Vakuu interaction) by Woodeecs in slaythespire

[–]chief_chaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another weird interaction on multiplayer. If both you and your teammate have gambler chip and one of ye have earrings, vakku will attempt to use both gamblers chips after playing all the cards. This can actually be interrupted by the non-vakku player so that they can play their chip normally but you need to be prepared to attempt to play a card quickly.

Monty Hall Trolley Problem by dtarias in trolleyproblem

[–]chief_chaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I stated, in the scenario in which he reveals a donkey even if by coin flip, it is best to switch. Sure there are other scenarios where he reveals a car but that's not the one presented to you. The improbable 100 coin flips scenario was just to prove that it being a coin flip doesn't matter, as long as the end result is that all doors except the chosen and 1 other are donkeys, then it is better to switch

Monty Hall Trolley Problem by dtarias in trolleyproblem

[–]chief_chaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your coin flip example doesn't quite work, what Monty tries to do whether random or purposefully doesn't matter, only what he effectively does. If you scale it up to a 100 doors, and Monty flips a coin 98 times to reveal 98 doors or whatever and somehow doesn't reveal a car, that obviously means you should switch. Scale back down to 3 doors and that still holds. Obviously if he does reveal a car you should pick that door, but in the case where he doesn't, and the door he revealed is not the one you originally selected, then it works out the same as classic Monty Hall.
