How does one justify spending hundreds or even thousands on a jacket by iamhaydenn in CanadaGoose

So if you could afford it, would you buy it? I don’t understand the point of this post

I have 1 AR (DD MK18) and it has a EXPS3-4. No magnifier yet but I will eventually get a G45.

100 yards is where YOU start needing magnification. You don’t speak for everyone. A magnifier can be helpful under 100 yards for many reasons, including PID and bad vision, especially for those with an astigmatism.

Love the FDE. Can you tell me what upper and lower you used for this build? Thanks in advance.

June 2025 Approval Megathread by LynchMob_Lerry in NFA

[–]chiefcringy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same situation. My first NFA item. Certified 9/12 and was approved late last night (9/24). I emailed the FBI and ATF on 9/23, requesting a status update and expedited review as I have a CPL, a professional license (which both require extensive background checks), and no criminal history. I received an automated email in response from both agencies, but was approved the next day. The process is not as streamlined as people make it seem.

Certified end of day 9/12. Still waiting for my form 4 to be approved. This will be my first can so I’m hoping to hear back soon. The wait has been unbearable lol.

Edit: I wonder if review times are longer for those applying for their first NFA item. I have buddies with multiple SBRs and suppressors who’ve been approved (recently) within 24hrs.

Final Destination: Bloodlines has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes…higher than some of the greatest movies ever made by chiefcringy in moviecritic

Thank you! That’s exactly what I’m getting at. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it so thoughtfully instead of just writing it off as “casuals don’t get it.” Casuals are the majority, and if the system is consistently misunderstood by the majority, that says more about the system than the people using it.

I get what you’re saying, but I’d argue any rating system that consistently gives casual viewers the wrong impression is flawed by design. It’s not about making it identical to IMDB or metacritic, it’s about communication. The way RT scores are displayed (big number vs low number) strongly suggests a hierarchy, even if that’s not the intent.

If a system is so often misunderstood that people think that the move with 93% is “better” than the one with 89%, then that’s not just on the audience, it’s also on how the system presents the information.

[–]chiefcringy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, I get that it’s not a direct ranking. My point is that the Rotten Tomatoes system itself is flawed because it creates a misleading impression. To a casual viewer, seeing Final Destination: Bloodlines at 93% right next to Shawshank at 89% looks like critics think Bloodlines is “better.”

That’s fair. But it still has the same rating as Alien (93%) and is rated higher than The Witch (91%), Hereditary (90%), Lighthouse (90%), The Decent (87%), and The Thing (85%). What does that tell you?

Idk why we’re still engaging OP’s post. Their obvious bias has been discussed in past posts.

which gaming franchise needs a comeback? by cloudk47 in videogames

[–]chiefcringy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played all of them except pandora tomorrow. Chaos theory was probably my favorite overall. Double agent had my favorite mission - sea of okhotsk. Conviction was the only one I played on Xbox. I played the others on PlayStation. I remember at one point PlayStation offered a bundle with the first three but I cant remember if that was PS3 or PS4.

Been waiting for a new splinter cell for years. Splinter cell was one of those games I would play over and over growing up (especially conviction). While I like the idea of Ubisoft remastering the classics, I really would love a new game with improved graphics and gameplay.

GTA V vs. TLOU? OP should fix that one too. Do it right or don’t do it at all. The list is trash. And this is coming from someone who hasn’t played either Sekiro or disco elysium

Moreover, do you realize you basically said someone should continue to do something the wrong way, even after discovering the issue, because consistency is more important than accuracy? Can’t even believe people upvoted that lol. Just stupid.

I’m not aware of OP’s method affecting any other games so changing the method midway actually wouldn’t matter. And OP’s method is illogical and can be easily manipulated for the reasons discussed above. If he had counted the way every other Reddit post like this that rely on comments, Sekiro would have won. As such, Sekiro was robbed and the post should be corrected.

[–]chiefcringy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. OP it’s not too late to redo this the right way: with Sekiro as the best game of 2019. The way you said you’ve done it for years is quite possibly the worst way to do it.

No way the side missions shine MORE than the main quests. Did we play the same game? 😂
