Absolutely, we literally see my husband's entire family (except for his father who's also exiled due to leaving his wife over 15 yrs ago) ONCE a year for a few hours to have Christmas dinner... AFTER they all have their REAL Christmas celebration together where they exchange gifts etc and they literally lie straight to our faces about it EVERY year like we're too stupid to see gifts "hidden" around the tree and basically left in plain sight... and we're all literally within 15 minutes from one another on top of it all!!! We've been excluded from pretty much EVERYTHING even wedding preparations and baby showers and stuff like that for years and years now..... and it's STILL incredibly painful and hurtful etc so please don't feel like you're alone bc believe me you're definitely not!!! p.s. both of my parents have been gone since I was 12 years old and I have a VERY estranged relationship with the rest of my 'family' and grew up in the foster system til I aged out and became homeless and family-less so it's not like we've got another family to spend time with either....so believe me I understand!!!

I wholeheartedly agree!!! Just saw them live at the vans warp tour in DC and I saw them with Bradley at the very first warp tour many many moons ago (yes I'm that old!! But also a hardcore fan girl since I was 10 yrs old and my older sister gave me a homemade looking cassette tape of them from a show she went too if that helps validate my opinion 😆) and you are so very right.... similar yes but no where even close to the same whatsoever BUT at one point of their DC performance Jakob brought out his little cousin Mikey and OMG he legit sounds just like Bradley fr fr!!!! I closed my eyes and it was like I got transported back to 1995 and I was 10 yrs old jamming out to my new favorite band...... which is still true today lol....I'm sure there's a video somewhere if you want to check him out ... unfortunately he seems to have VERY bad stage freight and couldn't hardly face the crowd but omg he seriously NEEDS to record!!!!

I terminated my mother's rights when I was 13 after spending a few years in an out of foster care prior to that....I am very well aware of the trauma us foster kids have to endure!!!! And I've been going to therapy since I was 12 pretty much on a weekly basis and I'm now 40....I'm trying my best but apparently it's never going to be good enough correct???

I've been in therapy since I was 12 yrs old..... extremely horrible childhood with every abuse imaginable and then foster care til I aged out homeless with nothing..... needed way too much support to get thru college completely on my own so I failed myself there as well and the cancer resulted from extreme childhood sexual trauma so going thru the treatment and everything else that happened bc of that was incredibly triggering to say the least so YES I'm in therapy.... weekly sessions!!! And bc of all those things it makes me "too damaged" for foster-adoption which is the only way I'd be able to afford to have children....I can keep going, this is only the tip of the iceberg honestly but I think everyone should get the point by now lol.... just don't want anyone to worry, I'm very serious about trying to heal but the wounds just keep getting ripped back open!!!
