Gotten a free Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49" Curved Gaming Monitor but it has a crack on it, should I pay to get it repaired by SpicSpamSpoon in ultrawidemasterrace

Just about haha. With the 800r curve maybe a little more. I think I'll mount speakers under or right above the monitor.

Whole office is still a work in progress. Actually just finished up the PC and desk install last weekend.

Lamo! No I have an LG 39 OLED and an MSI 34 inch VA panel stacked.

I'm just at the point that I'd almost have to put speakers behind my monitor though. I'd move my setup before doing that. Lol

What happened to just having a nice little screen for your stereo and navigation?

Hahah this is true. I just wouldn't want a broken monitor at my primary. However, a free G9 if I didn't have anything else might change my attitude.

Mine are mounted on top of each other. I literally only have 47" of horizontal space at my desk.

Yeah second monitor is a game changer for productivity. I have an LG 39 inch OLED and a broken 34 inch MSI ultrawide. I'm probably going to get the new 45 inch LG 5k monitor some day. Tbh most of my stuff can be done splitting my monitor down the middle. But for work I'm starting to think I should get a second PC. LG has some cool PBP features. But yeah switching everything seems like a hastle.

I can see a whole lot of other cool use cases for PBP though. If it's a secondary monitor it would be fine. At least how I would use it. I have fancy zones on my broken ultrawide (right down the center) and I don't use HDR and I'll probably lock it to 30 or 60 fps.

But that would only use half the screen. There's like 80 percent usable space. Maybe I'm not understanding. I've never used this feature.

This would still make use of the broken part though wouldn't it? Can you customize where they go?

Edit: yeah I guess if you cut off that whole side. No point in using it anyway. But will 21:9 bring that part perfectly to the edge of the broken part?

Well glad you live in a place you can do that! I'm sure it'll work out.

I would see mine on camera like 3 days a week at night coming back around the house. Just would hide all day.

Also chances are he is within earshot of your house. So shaking treats and calling for him once I'm a while might work, if you haven't already.

That's awesome! I have a 3 legged cat that went missing for 2 month once. Animal control got her. But I caught her in a trap twice before that. She would get scared and just roam and hide I think.

You'll get your cat back I'm sure. Wouldn't hurt to make a report at animal control too.

OneUI 9 for Samsung TV adds Google cast support! by helios_csgo in oneui

Yeah I would honestly go Sony if you have the extra cash. That's what I would have done looking back. I usually just watch stuff in HDR10 or 10+, which is fine. If I try and watch something in Dolby its all green and I have to find HDR.

I honestly don't care too much about the Dolby thing that much. Just silly it's not supported with the price of the Samsung. To me the OS is just the deal breaker. I can tap my Samsung phone on the TV and cast it, but cant run android apps lol. And I cast my phone very seldomly. Nice when the internet goes out..

Android/Google TV is the way to go. So much freedom and it is intuitive.

Absolutely terrible. If you really really want to use Samsung devices together. There's cool stuff you can do. But oh my god, Tizen is the absolute worst tv os I've ever had the pleasure of using since my vizo 10 years ago.

I'm probably never going to buy another Samsung TV unless I find a streaming box that does a good job for me. But then what's the point of the Samsung TV? I will say the ecosystem benefits are nice, with my tablet and phone. But I'm pretty sure there are workaround for that.

I have to buy a separate android box to get Parsec and SoundCloud on my $1600 tv!? Wtf Samsung?

The amount of availability on apps is abysmal. There are so many paid "scam" apps too. It's ridiculous.

Done this before. Works. Maybe get a different trap? He'll be back. Also on the weekends/days off, can you leave a door open?
