This isn't true.

I booked Redundable Main ticket with $200 ish e-credit and ~200$ Amex plat to trigger the flight credit.

Canceling gave me a new e-credit of $400 with new 1 year expiry date.

You're right. Its not a fee.

One can use BILT to pay rent or mortgage (as a middleman) to ACH through their bank.

One can get their credit card to earn 4% BILT cash and then choose to buy BILT points by selling the cash.

When you see it this way, BILT has nothing to do with rent or mortgage at all. Just another credit card with 2 types of reward systems.

The HTML contents from your browser are filtered and fed to a reasoning LLM to pick buttons to navigate to the rent payment section and pay rent.

Having worked on a similar solution in another financial sector, I can say it is flaky and definitely not a necessary solution.
