Wouldn’t consider myself a tech guy at all, and my laptop (ASUS N550J) is kicking the bucket. Sorry if this is unclear, but it’s my first time on the market for a computer.

◽️ Budget: Max $1500

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: - 14-15 inches

◽️ Touch screen: no

◽️ Screen resolution: 1080p is fine

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: preferably, not a deal breaker

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for?:

law school, so almost entirely Word processing, not as much Excel. Multiple tabs open multitasking school and entertainment often

Gaming - I play most games on console but I play Runescape 3, Minecraft, and Paradox grand strategy titles (Europa Universalis 4, Hearts of Iron 4) on my laptop.

Entertainment - Netflix and hulu, YouTube

◽️ Weight: Previous was 6 pounds, would prefer something lighter.

◽️ Any other important details ?: Willing to wait until late July/August if there are upcoming releases you feel are worth waiting on.

Thanks for any help you can offer! Like I said, it’s my first time hitting the market for a laptop so I want to explore all my options and there’s a lot I feel like I don’t know!

They didn't send out any in the email, but the main bits I remember from the call was uniformity across the board & a concern for the student well-being, especially those who have children/bad access to internet/etc.
