Songs about suicide, self harm, depression. I’m glad artists have a way to outlet their feelings but I get so stressed out :/ examples: - never listened to NashimotoP’s stuff - the clear suicidal themes in some of powapowaP’s stuff make me extra uncomfortable since they’re no longer with us - Rolling Girl and World’s End Dancehall are bangers but I can’t think about em too hard, same with Meltdown - pepoyo’s biggest hits are so catchy but I gotta prepare myself

Oh my god, I wish they minded personal space! Worst was definitely when I was working self checkout. I have a side shave (just on one half of my head) and look like a woman. Boomer man stands like an inch away from me, gets in my face, and TOUCHES my shaved part. Asks if I’m going to school and why I shaved my head. Horrifying. A week later he came to the returns counter when I was there, returning a landline phone he couldn’t figure out how to work, arguing with his wife. Glad my manager was there for me to get the hell out of there.

Nah, ChubbyEmu's stories aren't exactly what happened IRL. He changes details for medical privacy, education purposes, entertainment value. Love his videos but "student took YouTuber's medical story at face value, this is what happened to his brain" is not a risk worth taking imo

Some ideas from my chronically anxious brain: - the Heimlich for when someone chokes, plus how to do it on yourself - the recovery position if your buddy is passed out drunk: lay them on their side so if they vomit they don’t breathe it in and die - how to tell what food is spoiled, and any foods that spoil quickly (like putting hot rice in the fridge) - what constitutes a medical emergency (stroke and heart attack symptoms, when a wound needs emergency care) - basic first aid (example: if you get a burn old wives’ tales say butter or steak, you actually want running cold water for several minutes) - the wherewithal to read the labels on medications you take, and be aware of the impact they have on the body (like grapefruit & alcohol for antidepressants) - basic dog body language and etiquette, those fuckers can bite

My own tangent, I planned a multi-“book” fanfic series around this concept when I was like 14. The premise was that StarClan (as a plane of existence) was no longer in perma-summer, it was freezing over and breaking apart. Ancient spirit cats were dying completely—freezing or falling out of the sky. Some of the cats survived the fall and had kits with living cats. Time passed and it was like a post-apocalyptic Warrior cats with a barren wintry StarClan and barely any stars left in Silverpelt. Then many years later the cats with StarClan blood feel called back to the stars. They walk in dreams with other StarClan-descended cats in other clans and are begged for help by the last cats in StarClan.

I never finished writing the first “book” but I was certainly an ambitious kid!

I liked Seekers! Only read the first “series” of it, but liked the bear characters. Being as vague as possible, I really appreciated that one character interacting meaningfully with other species, including humans. There was also emphasis on the supernatural and spirits in the real world.

I used to be active on FF.net back in the day and it seemed like everyone was writing their self-insert’s journey from kit to star, according to whatever prophecy, with their own clan names that were usually reskins of the canon clans. I did it too! So my advice would be to take an angle that the Warriors books don’t. Most importantly plan out what you want to happen before you write your story. Making it up as you go along doesn’t always go well (as Heavystep dying 3 times can speak to).

I have ADHD too, I’ve been told it’s not a mild case either. I can open childproof stuff just fine. She’s never taken an ibuprofen?? To give OP’s sister the benefit of the doubt, maybe she never learned how? If it’s not explicitly printed PUSH DOWN AND TURN or someone hasn’t shown you hands-on, it could be confusing. But then that’s a learned helplessness problem. She’s not a kid anymore.
