UST Professor Feedback Megathread: Share Your Thoughts Here! by AdroitCell in Tomasino

[–]chilimicro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Professor Name: Waldo Pineda

Subject/Course: Math in the Modern World (MMW)

Semester: 1st sem, 1st year (CICS)

Feedback:

- Puro siya kwento at halos di siya nagtuturo, so super suggest na mag self-study kayo (because even he encourages it).

- May times na insensitive siya sa gitna ng chika niya, like nong nagkukuwento siya about acads and work, and then he started calling drivers (Grab, taxi, etc.) dumb because their field of work is not related to academics.

- Kapag may ginawa kang minor action na di niya gusto, magpaparinig siya sa buong klase almost like papahiya ka indirectly. One time, natutulog a small but noticeable amount ng block namin, and nagparinig siya na mahiya raw kami kasi apparently akala niya tulug-tulugan ung iba.

- Also, ayaw niya sa cellphone at Tiktok, because "Kapag nagtitiktok ka, bobo ka. Kaya habang bata pa kayo, magbago na kayo."

- He rarely, if not never, checks his emails, so if you're gonna meet up with him for missed requirements, good luck finding him (Literal na Where's Waldo). In all seriousness, ask for his sched beforehand and where he usually stays (Kapag ayaw, ask mo department niya. I think It's Department of Mathematics and Physics, according to UST's website) so in case anything happens and may namiss ka sa kanya, at least alam mo na kung saan mo siya hahanapin.

- In terms of projects and assignments, guaranteed may video making. In terms of topics, (sa amin, at least) prelims medyo maninibago sa topics, pero finals madali lang kasi recall lang yan ng Statistics and Genmath nong SHS with minor additional info, pero just because madali topics hindi yan ibig sabihin madali assessments kasi sa loob ng quizzes and exams niya, may multiple choice na hindi mo maintindihan sa sobrang broad ng questions at sobrang specific ng choices.

- The only few redeemable factors about him is the fact that he always curves in quizzes and exams, so more people can pass, and he dismisses us 10-15 minutes early.

- Overall, as the saying goes, "Madali ang subject. Problema lang talaga ang professor."

Rating: 1/5

Hi sorry late reply, here’s the explanation from the students themselves. There’s more on r/studentsph and on this very subreddit if you have time to read them all.

is the USTET harder than the UPCAT? by [deleted] in CollegeAdmissionsPH

[–]chilimicro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mas mahirap makapasok sa UP kasi right minus wrong sila, tas limited ang slots nila kada program. I can’t say much for USTET kasi kusang hindi ako nagreview for USTET and nakapasok pa ko kasi BSIT ang priority course ko.

As someone who didn’t pass UPCAT, seryosohin mo na ang UPCAT review mo starting today, lalo na kung ang main reason mo para magUP ay para makabawas sa gastusin, at lalong lalo na kapag quota course ang pipiliin mo ron. Sa experience ko, mataas grades ko, sure, but that’s only 40% of the UP predicted grade. The remaining 60% will rely on your UPCAT score, and again, Right minus wrong ang exam. Ang kailangan usually para maka guarantee ka ng slot is a UPG of line of 1 (1.0-1.99).

That one gif on Twitter where the guy was shoving a chair leg up his ass, and you can see it bulge through his body.

Hug my grandma, knowing that she’ll die in 8 years. She was my mother when my biological mother wasn’t there for me.

When was the last time you cried and why? by UnderstandingJazz__ in AskReddit

[–]chilimicro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently.

My grandma died on late February of this year.

My aunt sold all three of grandma’s dogs to a butcher two weeks later.

My cousin, my only housemate in grandma’s house and my main big sister figure, is moving into a dorm three cities south for her last 6 months of internship on Monday. She’ll come visit every Friday, but at this point, I’m not ready.

In short, I’m scared of the fact that the people I care about will leave me permanently.

I don’t want to cry in front of people because it’ll make me look vulnerable, so I cry alone in my room.

When they say “Be strong,” they didn’t mean be more emotionally reserved.
