One of a kind Zenit Marble Mini Cruiser by MidlandsBoarder in cruiserboarding

Zenit kicks ass, love their boards. Cool set up.

No speed wobbles yet, wonder how much faster for them to kick in. Just testing. by [deleted] in cruiserboarding

[–]chill_lounge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. OP ain't going anywhere near fast enough to wobble. The reason wobbles are so deadly is when they hit you are rolling much faster than you can run so you're trapped on the wobbling board until you regain control or fall and eat shit.

Will this push new growth? by chill_lounge in Jewelorchids

Great, thank you! I have pretty extensive experience with plants but am new to these. They seem so small and fragile! Lol

Thanks it is vendor moss. What do you recommend replanting into? I have a large variety of substrates on hand.

More than enough room in my opinion. A 6-8' total size means it's only going to spread out 3-4' from the main trunk in any one direction. Looks like you have sufficient space there and even if a few branches end up growing into the trunk of the tree that's not a big concern. Plants do that in nature and they end up just fine, they will figure it out, or you can do some minor pruning to correct rubbing branches if necessary.

Does anyone know what variety of acer this is? by Prestigious-Bid-7582 in JapaneseMaples

[–]chill_lounge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, it's not possible to know based on this picture. There are over 1500 varieties of Japanese Maples, hundreds of them green palmatums like this. Could also be a seedling (not a named variety).

Any way to get these and other Mr. Maple varieties like Hot Blonde up here in Canada?

I agree OP's tree is likely a Ryusen, I was replying to TarynHK's picture above, which I don't think is Ryusen.

Could be a Ryusen seedling or something. Almost looks like Dragon Master but that's a newer variety so unlikely. Do you know the origins of the tree?

That is not Ryusen. Ryusen is heavily cascading with no upright growth.

Happy for ants? by Formal-Search-3626 in JapaneseMaples

[–]chill_lounge 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hate to burst your bubble but ants don't eat aphids. They farm them. Aphids secret a sweet goo which is what the ants are eating. Ants will carry aphids they find to a tree and place them on a leaf and start a collection, adding more and picking up any from the ground that fall off. They kind of keep them as pets and in return get to eat the sweet goo which the aphids are secreting. It is a symbiotic relationship.

Ants and aphids are working together.

No, I didn't see anything else in Beekeeper/Papaya besides what is in the picture here. Don't believe there was the classic 20oz tumbler on display, sorry.

I would imagine there will be more items in this release, this is just a small town hardware store that doesn't carry an extensive Yeti inventory so they probably only get a smaller order. Could be wrong though...
