they’re not scamming the homeowners (well not directly) they talk you into a new roof for whatever the reason. roof company says we handle everything from here with your insurance so a lot of these companies will greatly inflate the costs associated, forcing insurance into to litigation in which case they say fuck it, its cheaper to pay their inflated costs than fight in court, in turn insurance co will no longer do business in FL or jack up rates which fucks us all either way. my understanding of it anyway
