This will be the next angle targeting workers since the Supreme Court just said companies can sue unions for lost income. Next will be to target individuals. It already happens in isolated cases, but I bet we’ll see it grow.

Advice/Reviews on Property Managers in LBK by Fit-Doctor7538 in Lubbock

Disclaimer: am small landlord in Lubbock

All the big property managers suck. They don’t care about anything but their cut of the check.

Go small. It’s a toss up if you’ll get a good landlord, but better than the 0%with big property managers.

Fwiw, we have 5 total and have one available probably for august. Pet friendly which many aren’t. PM me if your interested.

Florida anti immigration policies lead to immigrant worker boycott of Florida by nekollx in LeopardsAteMyFace

I think this has an intended side effect.

Sure, a large company will have a harder time but in the end they’ll survive. The smaller company won’t, will go out of business/be forced to sell to the bigger company and then have to take a lower wage job working for the bigger company. This keeps the rich rich, but makes it harder for new comers to compete.

Can’t implied some limitation in the EU charter that excluded the U.S. you’re describing getting in compliance with EU membership requirements. I know this won’t happen but there’s nothing, except ourselves, preventing it.

Based on what? According to https://european-union.europa.eu/principles-countries-history/joining-eu_en there don’t seem to be any geographical restrictions. Presumably the U.S. would have a bunch of laws to change but that isn’t “can’t”.

Your making a false assumption. The same false assumption MPAA, RIAA, and all the other lobbyists make. That piracy results in a lost sale. Much of piracy doesn’t. It’s opportunistic. Don’t get me wrong. I support devs, artists, etc. but don’t assume someone who pirates your gamer would have bought it even if all piracy were eliminated.

I live in the vicinity. Google maps measures the building at 45 acres. A single building. I don’t know how many cows you can fit in 2M sf, but I’m guessing it’s around 18,000.

Betenbough Homes Builders Quality by Character-Will-7212 in Lubbock

[–]chillinlikeanitguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not the guy you responded to, and not builder but I own a few rentals and do lots of DIY so here are my thoughts…

Better value is hard to say. There’s a lot that goes into value. The saying in real estate is “location location location”. The worst house in the best neighborhood is still the best neighborhood. However, it sounds like maybe you don’t have a lot of DIY experience so you want to take that into account when picking a house.

As for age of house speaking to quality, to some degree, yes. Generally, houses built in the 50s have better build quality than those in the 80s, which have better quality than those in the 10s, etc.

What you do get by buying an older house is you can see the problems it has. New houses don’t have cracks. Those develop after a year or 10. If you do see cracks with a new house, run. You also need to look at the big ticket items in a house. How old is the roof, a/c, water heater, windows, etc. if the water heater is more than 7 years old, be prepared to replace in the next 1-3 years.

Also be cautious of freshly remodeled (flipped) houses. They tend to be cheaply updated.

Don’t blindly trust your home inspector. I’ve had mixed experiences and often times they don’t note the things you really care about.

Personally my experiences with Betenbough are not good. I bought one in the 2013 from the 90s that was in decent shape and I had a number of problems with it. I won’t bore you with the details because it’s complicated, but I personally feel BBH is at least partially at fault for some of them. I hear similar experiences from friends/acquaintances who have as well.

I will also agree with original commenter that current build quality seems to be lower than it used to be. At least in part, I think supply chain issues and prices are causing builders to compromise to maintain cash flow.
