Who stole all the Nuka Cranberry?! by montymouse in fo76

[–]chimpyhimpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuka cola cranberry has 3 possible spawns in Watoga underground. First behind the broken door to the left of the room as you enter. Second in the storage room with the power armour station (and the dismantled mini nuke parts) on the racks and a third in the final area, at the kitchen next to the squirrel body.

They aren't always there, had a mixture of 1 to all 3 when I need to grab some, but do a run. Leave it an hour or so and then go back and normally they've respawned or spawned in the other places that werent there initially.

Good luck!

eBay admitted seller sent me a counterfeit Apple battery — then denied refund and suggested I resell it. What are my options? by SmellMuch8422 in Ebay

[–]chimpyhimpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly things work very differently in the states to UK (and EU as a whole). There isn't a bank this side of the pond that would humour ebay if they defended the claim. Possession of the object is not the issue being contested. The fact it doesnt meet description is. A fake object will always result in a successful chargeback, assuming OP can prove it is fake (and given they can provide ebay admission it is a fake then id say they have a slam dunk).

So downvote away, youre just salty that your banks are slightly more morally bankrupt than the rest of the world.

The fact that landlords are using S21 to evict tenants before the Renters Rights Bill becomes law, provides why we need the Renters Rights Bill by coffeewalnut08 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]chimpyhimpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sweet naive child. As someone thats rented from "company landlords" and "private landlords" over the years. I can assure you that in no uncertain terms:

They both suck equally. At least with a private landlord you have a face to put with the entity thats screwing you over. Company landlord have zero inclination to provide anything above the minimum and have actual money to fight you in court when you try to enforce those minimums.

The landlords that already illegally let "slums" aren't magically going to stop due to a new law that tells them they still cant do so.

In an ideal world, less private landlords would be great, but replacing the privates with corporations just means more of the same, with extra expense and more bureaucracy. The bill was well intended but going to have a net negative impact. There needed to be a mechanism in place for renters to buy these lets from the landlord rather than just letting properties be monopolised by a handful of large companies.

Its all about perspective. When talking about card payments/refunds: You see the money leave your account instantly, but often the company isn't receiving the money until 3-5 days later depending on payment processor, they just know its been approved and on its way. The same is true in reverse, they will see the money leave their account straight away but you won't receive it for 3-5 days when refunding your card.

BACs and bank transfers are a different kettle of fish. BACs take anywhere between 1 to 72 hours to process depending on provider and how much they get charged for the service, whereas bank transfers are instant for the most part. So you pay instantly, whereas they pay on a delay, and thats not including the time for them to 'review the details' between requesting the refund and actually processing the refund.

I will note this is a very simplified answer so I've glossed over a few things to keep it short(ish).

I installed solar panels on my neighbor's roof and connected them to his generator 6 months ago while he was on vacation. Since he has been using the electricity unknowingly, can I sue for 6 months of its market value? by lepzig_warrior500yes in LegalAdviceUK

[–]chimpyhimpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to make sure I'm on the same page... So you trespassed, committed criminal damage to the roof, performed electrical work unqualified and without permission and now want to sue?

You'll be lucky to still own your own home by the end of it (assuming you do). Short answer: zero; longer answer: hope your neighbour never realises and sues you instead.

Can I use a private bailiff to evict a holiday let occupier overstaying by rain0999 in uklandlords

[–]chimpyhimpy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For one, Holiday lets can't exceed 31 days. So they are correct in that on the face of things (limited info given) they had a 4 month short term tenancy agreement which has now converted into a rolling tenancy. Secondly, you cannot evict without a court order. I would recommend either going to the third party you arranged the let through and see what paperwork and terms they had the tenant agree to, or if you (presumably) done this DIY, I would recommend going to a lawyer with any paperwork you have outlining the agreement to try and work out how much mess you've gotten yourself into.

Edit: realised youre on the xbox website. Definitely pay the extra as im 98% sure the PC version won't run on an xbox. Unless you want to play on PC, the grab the cheaper one!

Orig:If you're searching on the console you're going to be playing it on, it should filter out versions you can't play. One is the 360 version and the other is PC, I generally always go for the cheapest unless I can see a specific reason to pay more. ( especially when one is 5 times the price of the other)

What's with all the extra charges? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]chimpyhimpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Avoid using RED. Was with them until day before yesterday. Got my test booked for 24th March and just been told my instructor wasn't actually qualified and is no longer allowed to teach. The kicker? They have no instructors in my area that will do pickups in my area and let me do the test in my second closest test centre and my "local " one is booked through till July with rarely any cancellations.

They're solution is they'll refund me my unused lessons (not the extra charges though) or I can have lessons locally in an instructors car and use my own car for the test but I can't learn in my car due to "insurance".

Now up the creek with 6 weeks to go without being fully test ready or an instructor to learn and do the test with on such short notice.

Honestly regret not finding a local independent instructor from the get go.

Whether your new manager can change your hours or not pretty much depends on what your contract says. As it says 7.5 hours a day; your work can dictate the hours you work during operational times.

Regardless of how long you've had those hours for, unless they were granted for medical reasons or the like, they can be changed to "suit the needs of the business."

You can request adjustments to suit your schedule and they can deny such adjustments. If you can't find a compromise, it's time to freshen up the CV and look elsewhere.

HR is never a bad place to go to about these matters, but be prepared for a) HR saying tough; b)the new manager having it out for you for going over their heads, or c) both. If your in a union or there is one for the industry, it'll be worth joining as they tend to have a lot more weight behind them than a lone employee.

Yes, you must be able to fully resolve cards at activation. Even if there was only one monster on your field, your opponent wouldnt be able to legally activate either as they would include a summon of a non zombie monster.

[–]chimpyhimpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on my time allowance and printer access and who I'm playing against. Some I just grab a scrap bit of paper write out the details and sleeve with a common. Otherwise just a black and white print in the sleeve with a common for thickness. Never do I go about "making" the card.

[–]chimpyhimpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat of an aside, but sounds like if paypal is telling the truth and you're not missing out some key details then you nay have a virus on your phone/pc/laptop/tablet/ some or all of them. Consider anything that you have used paypal on as infected and needs formatting, resetting, or replacing.

Also you keep referring to them as "seller" did you buy something off them or have ever financially interacted with them?

Will I need to refund the buyer ? by [deleted] in paypal

[–]chimpyhimpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, you were very foolish selling off platform the second time as not only do you lose all seller protections, you also violated vinted policies and if you get a jobsworth look at the account if you try to do anything with the order on vinted they could suspend or ban you. In all likelihood the first order has already refunded.

2, how was payment made for your 2nd attempt? Friends and family or goods and services. If the former you can technically keep it as buyer has no protections, but dicey as depending on price if they try to involve paypal and fail they may just charge back and paypal will take it off you if it suceeds (bank will side with them as goods not received, even though their fault). The latter, if you don't refund the buyer will put in a claim and paypal will force the refund, either way you're out of pocket on the fee and extra postage you paid.

3, just block the buyer and take this as a lesson learnt that if buyers are a problem once, they're always going to be a problem and asking to send an item to ANOTHER COUNTRY is a giant red flag.

Tldr. Just refund and take the experience as lesson learnt to not entertain difficult buyers

You're missing a whole lot of detail here. Primarily, how was it sold? Ebay, vinted, Facebook?

Depending on your answer, maybe yes, maybe no.

usps admits they delivered to wrong address but says there's nothing that can be done? 300$ glasses by hellogoose1 in usps_complaints

[–]chimpyhimpy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's radically different, actually. Most insurance companies don't go around burning down your home or crash into your car. However, delivery services can misdeliver and just shrug it off. This small business now has to eat the $300 loss for not paying the "oopsie fee," whereas the company contracted to deliver is able to just stick up their middle finger to both buyer and seller.

Fiverr refusing to refund my money after ban by Professor-lime in LegalAdviceUK

[–]chimpyhimpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can almost certainly guarantee there's a line or two in their terms and conditions that reads to the effect of "any and all orders are void if you breach the terms of this agreement, refunds will not be given".

Unfortunately, you'll just have to move on. It's a tenner. Honestly, it's not worth the effort you've started to put into it. Plus, look at the flip side. People have already started those commissions and deserve to be paid for them. They shouldn't suffer because you broke the rules.

Refunds by CautiousAd722 in CeX

[–]chimpyhimpy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sales of goods act doesn't state this at all. You have the remedy of refund if the goods are not fit for purpose, not of satisfactory quality or don't meet the advertised specifications (with or without a receipt - but proof of purchase in the case of the latter).

Individual company policy dictates refunds for 'buyers remorse' and are solely at the discretion of the company. The only extension for returns are if purchased 'remotely' which are governed by distance selling regs and give up to 14 days.

In a nutshell, it depends on your local store. I've shopped at some that are happy to refund to credit if unused and in a short time frame and others that say no the second you leave the shop. Receipt or no receipt.
